Quiet day in work - many people off and I deliberately blocked out my calendar all afternoon until home time. Managed to knock quite a bit of stuff over and got started on one task that I thought I wouldn’t start until next week. Left half an hour before home time so my commute was quite a bit calmer than it might have been … 😊
Manged to do my twice round the building walk at lunchtime 😊
Dodged calls from the clerk …. he’s completely ignored or not been capable of actioning the guidance I gave him yesterday …. Have instead arranged for him to come round tomorrow afternoon when I hope I will have the patience and headspace to cope with him ….
Washed all the seagull poop off my car when I got home - Mr KK was impressed when he got home! 😉
Fed the cats, cleaned the trays, one of them twice ….
Downloaded 3rd statement from my account now that my pay is showing. I will send those off tomorrow when I do the eom / post payday review along with some other bits that the mortgage advisor asked for.
Closed up greenhouse after harvesting parsley for the curry side salad 😊
Mr KK used his mate’s diamond saw to cut the slots for the new bathroom window - he’s pleased that he’s got that moving now.
Meal plan etc done for the week, Toscos shop booked. Two rows of knitting done and fed both of us 😊
Nothing earth shattering but steady progress.

Oh! I forgot …. 😊
Paid the builders merchant’s bill. Mr KK was meant to but he’s worked so little lately (FiL’s dying followed by Covid, followed by fundal plus BHs) he’s feeling brassic so I offered.Booked a table at the local Very Nice restaurant for our wedding anniversary so we have something to look forward to next weekend 😊❤️KKAs at 15.08.25:

Long day yesterday. Did the builders merchants for cellcon blocks, sand and cement for the bathroom window change. Mr KK raided the butchers and I failed to get and large bamboo canes for my runner beans! 😢 Picked up a birthday card for last night’s host and a Father’s Day card which is still discreetly tucked away inside my handbag. Then spent quite a lot of time clearing more weed and green strandy slime from both ponds - they look a lot better for it. Saw loads of dragon fly nymphs casings around the big pond and electric blue and Red damselfly pairs laying eggs all over - seems to be a great year for them. It’s like the air is full of flying jewels. 😊
Then spent the afternoon preparing dessert for last night and having a meeting with the Parish Clerk who is a really poor communicator and genuinely has no idea how to do even the most basic tasks on email etc …. (I was helping him forward an email, with attachment to multiple people yesterday, including how to actually a format an email to make it readable …. This is going to become tiresome very quickly I think …)
Quick shower and then raced round next door for the barbecue with a gallon jar of Mr KK’s 18 month old Perry from our pear trees and the dessert I made from our rhubarb! 😊 It was good night but I definitely ate and drank too much (I had two big insulated mugs of tea to try to keep warm). Gave up at 9.30pm when I just got too cold and it was getting midgey and damp. Didn’t sleep well, I suspect because of all the food / carbs / undercooked veggie skewers but have been able to have a lie in this morning, so although I feel a bit tired I’m not too bad 😊
Today will be a quiet one with no great ambitions beyond a bit of cleaning (to get it done!), financial updates (ditto), knitting (am a row behind as only had time to do one yesterday) and maybe some reading 😊

No cleaning done … 😉
Knitting caught up with and added a further row 😊
Financial catch up done. Wanted to make an OP but sat on my hands and transferred my monthly excess to savings instead - now at 5.3 months EF. I will wait until I have got to 6 months before making any further significant OPs. Updated my produce tracker and my signature. Coloured in three more £500 blocks in my mortgage ‘wall’. Sent my last three bank statements to the mortgage advisor. Worked out that I have just over £1K per month going into my pension now - thanks to my generous employer’s scheme. Not sure if I will be able to sustain this level after October and the remortgage / new energy prices, but will try to if I can.Spent some time in the garden, mainly planting, with shower dodging, but also some random bits of weeding and one very flop-potential plant supported. 😊
Cats have been roaming free in the garden for a second day and are loving it 🤩❤️
