Mortgage free in Forever Home :-)

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds and @savingholmes.TBH, I am *SUCH* a homebody that this is my happy place …. I find it so hard to leave it to go anywhere else, especially in the summer when it is looking so lovely (scruffy and weedy but lovely to me! 😉). I also hate going anywhere when I feel this tired. I have no ‘restlessness’ or desire to anywhere particularly …. I will think on your comments though ….
- Drove onto beyond home to get two sacks of cat litter this evening - we were getting dangerously low!- Fed cats, cleaned two trays, emptied the cat litter bin and relined it.- Four (more complex patterny bits) rows of blanket done.- Mr KK late home as went over to see MiL. She’s doing okay. He came back with yet more books … 🙄😉 They talked about the mortgage chap coming over last night snd MiL was *horrified* by what we still owe …. 🤷♀️ Had a chat with Mr KK as a follow on from last night but also from the financial coaching call where I identified that it felt like I am doing all the work on finances, OPs etc. Mr KK suggested that he tries to send off an extra £20 per month to our joint account as he won’t notice that too much and then I can use that to OP. I suggested that initially we use that cash to build up our joint (house) savings again and then use it for OPing. He was up for that 😊 Whatever - it feels great that the penny is dropping with him that if he doesn’t help with the OPs he will be the one working for another 15 years and well beyond retirement age….
- Looked at buying the cat litter online to avoid having to do the travel to buy it - can find it cheaper but the shipping costs are astronomical!- Can see that the two cheques I posted off on the weekend have cleared. Should message my mum to thank her for hers. 😊KKAs at 15.08.25:

Ha, I think it's the job of all older people to be horrified at you not being in the same situation as they are!
That's fab that Mr KK is feeling enthusiastic about being mse.
If you're not feeling going away then definitely don't, it's not meant to be another chore! But maybe you could divert a little money to a few days away pot in case you get a hankering over summer then if you don't use it you've saved an OP amount. Ignore me if that doesn't feel right for you of course, I'm craving short breaks away so am probably projecting 😁2 -

Speaking of projecting …..
I have an oldish friend, known her c. 20 years. She lives a long way away from me now and is coming nearby on a tour in her camper in a week or so’s time. She was initially want to camp in our garden but I put that off as when she was first mooting this we were still in the dying phase with FiL. She will be camping in a local site and I think the rough plan is I collect her and her dog and take her to a garden centre that takes dogs and we have lunch. She’s just asked if I ‘will show her my garden’ …. and it’s pretty much making me panic. There is no logical reason for this - she’s a good person, if incredibly probing and examining, but I am feeling SUCH an aversion to having her here it’s making me quite frantic ….Sigh ….

Absolutely! Those tiny furry heroes are your get out of hosting card. New arrivals, very nervous, just starting to be braver. Unless your friend wants to leave her dog in the car while you have a very short outside visit ?Just a thought....4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I’m not a doggy person really. Not mad keen on leaving the dog in my car …. And I could just shut the cats in. 🤷♀️ I’m going to be rude or odd one way or the other aren’t I ….
I’m not sure that Chloe and George see themselves as furry heroes?! 😂😂😂😂🤔

I agree with @f0xh0les. The kittens can’t have visitors as they are too young & their inoculations haven’t quite kicked in yet. 🐱🐱I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Are you able to identify what it is that's making you feel worried?
Do you think she'll try to suggest she could camp in your garden once she's there? Do you just not want anyone at all at the moment 'intruding' into your space while you're healing from recent events? Is it seeing her in general, that you don't feel like socialising, or you feel like this particular friendship isn't what you want at the moment? Or other things entirely?

Is there room in the garden? Is the garden level?? Nothing worse than sleeping on a slope and having to hang on for dear life all night.
Meanwhile no dogs in the garden due to ground nesting birds, freshly planted stuff.....
