    Morning all,

Yesterday I said I could be debt free by August. But, im going to push myself. I think I can be debt free alot sooner..

    Wages

    Work - £1346
Sainsburys - £500 (basic, without over time) with over time it's usually £600/700.

So, tonight im going to sit down and write a budget and see how long it's going to take for me to pay it off. I have to be strict!

That is very admirable @BlueJ94 and I understand you want the debt gone as soon as possible but don't be so strict with your budget that you exhaust yourself and end up failing. Remember to include some plans for having a life whilst debt busting.

Have you thought about how you going to celebrate once you are debt free? Take time off from both jobs to spend time with your boyfriend and the dog or a bottle of champagne or an ice cream from your favourite parlour.

  • Hi there. Really admire your motivation and determination to be debt free! Where are you planning on cutting back even more? I know I can still do more with my budget to have more funds to put towards paying debt but I'm worried about taking it too far restricting myself and giving up entirely! It sounds like you're in the right headspace though

Thank you, oh yes sorry I miss worded what I meant.

I meant I need to sit down and look properly at my budget, see where I can put the money I was paying to aqua. Maybe into SafetyNet instead etc.

Not yet, he can't really take time off as he's self employed. But maybe we can do something one weekend

    Hey thanks!

Sorry I've miss worded what I meant, I meant I need to sit down and look at my budget properly and shift some numbers around etc. No more restrictions as I do allow myself a little freedom now and again  but yes totally agree with taking it too far, you're not going to enjoy life if you can't do anything besides thinking about budgets and numbers!

    Thank you!
