Virgin also know that a fairly high percentage of people will do nothing and just pay the new increased price. My new contract is 18 months though not 24

We were on a 200Mbit TV XL package (with second TIVO). Somehow the price had drifted up from £77 to £94.50, and the latest price rise would have taken it over £100.
Well, after 30 mins on hold & another 25 minutes pleasant chat, we agreed to drop the second TIVO (rarely used due to using a Firestick with Netflix/Disney+/Prime), and the price dropped to £64pcm - a decent saving for us over the next 18 months 👍
Definitely worth the effort.

I’m under contract until January 2023 and so far have received no communication regarding a price rise0

I'm in contract until October this year, paying £53 a month for phone, broadband and TV.I've had a letter saying there won't be a price increase for me until my contract expires but I'm free to leave before then...I think that's a mistake on the letter though (the free to leave bit)!0

When comparing prices, it's worth remembering that all providers apart from Zen are about to increase costs at 3.9% + the January CPI - in March/April time. BT's I think is nearly 10%, and there's no get out clause in their contract, unlike with Virgin.
I'm looking to go to either Vodafone, EE or BT.0 -
Forgot to mention: there's some decent cashback deals for signing up for new Broadband deals on places like TopCashback.co.uk - depending on who you sign up with, you can claw back 90-180 quid with 500mbps and above deals.0

I only pay for their broadband at £18pm but was increased to £21.35 which is an 18% increase. I called them and they agreed to suspend the increase for 6 months. I'll call them back in 6 months to see where I'm at.
I had difficulty contacting them. They sent a letter with a weblink and when I typed the web link they provided a number to call! Why didn't they provide the number in the letter 😕 I was on hold for over 30 minutes. During that time I tried to contact them on their chat service but said it wasn't working. Oddly enough it was working when I pressed the 'upgrade' button 😒
I also emailed their CEO complaining about the difficulty in contacting them. All these companies still blame the pandemic but c'mon we're almost two years into it. They should have systems in place now so that doesn't wash anymore.0 -
I had a letter saying there would be no price increase while I'm in contract (up until October) but it said I could also leave before Feb with no penalty.I called them up and it was a printing error on the letter - they said my price was going up 5.63 starting next month.I cancelled my TV / Phone / Mobile package with them but they convinced me to keep 50mb fibre at £23 per month. I know there are slightly cheaper deals but Virgin can almost guarantee 50mb speeds...0
