Out: chicken chasseur.
Nothing more will fit in the freezer, so I need to work on what's in there (and also make an excess of parsnips into soup). Still need to use that bacon, too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Out: spaghetti style pasta dinner last night. Wholemeal fussili for lunch today.
In: very small portion of leftover beetroot and creme fraiche sauce, not sure how.well it will freeze. It's good for the soul to walk with your soles on the soil.2 -
It would go very well with sausage and mash... however I'm the only one who likes parsnips, so if I have some over from the soup I will mash it to add to potatoes separately from DH's.
The bacon and four pieces of chicken are going in another chicken chasseur today: it's only a couple of days since we had some but it was so nice we are having more! That will also free a bit of freezer space and ensure we have more variety of vegetables as it's the sort of recipe where you can be a bit inventive with what gets thrown in.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. The risotto turned out a bit porridge texture, it wasn't cooked after the specified time, so put it on timer and went to sleep. Tasty, but a bit mushy.
In: stocked up on fruit juices from home for ms C. Tinned mushrooms, tinned spiced taco beans.
Out: tinned mushrooms (always have 1 in the cupboard, just in case)It's good for the soul to walk with your soles on the soil.0 -
Out: bacon, chasseur, all the plain flour (yes, pancakes), 1 portion spicy parsnip soup.
To use up soon: 4 portions soup, 2 pints milk to turn into yogurt, 2 part-tubs humus (sooo nice on pancakes with a mixture of onions, peppers and mushroom cooked down really soft - learned that from my friend yesterday), small portion of the veg mix just mentioned, tuna and mayo mix, most of a box of mushrooms, eggs.
I'm off to start the yogurt.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
