Freezer out: two lamb steaks, jacket potatoes.
    In: fishcakes, lamb's liver

Too many things need to be used soon:
    • I have live yogurt so I want to make a big batch in the instant pot.
    • Still eating up cheese from Christmas
    • Half a bag of spinach that needs to go in the freezer soon.
    • Defrosted greengages (stewed)
    • Small portion of cooked rhubarb
    • Parsnips to blanch and freeze or make into soup and freeze
    • Two swedes - I've found a recipe for swede and onion that I think I can do in the instant pot.
    • Box of eggs
    • half tiny jar of tomato puree
    • cottage cheese
    • pumpkins that are starting to go over
There may be more, I will try to be accountable.

Out cupboard: white beans for tomorrow.

I now have an empty shelf in kitchen freezer!

Luckily not too bad today @Cherryfudge!
So the beans i took out and soaked yesterday provided me with 545g of cooked beans from 250g dry. They were nice spanish beans called Alubia, somewhere between cannelini and butterbean, size wise. Dusting off my high school maths, that's an increase of 118%!! The savings are well worth the time spend and i'm gradually working my way through new and interesting beans at my local food store.

I haven't heard of those, @carinjo, but it's always interesting trying new things. I've soaked and cooked beans before on the stove top but next time I'd like to try pressure cooking them - but pressure cooking is one of several things I've not mastered about my Instant Pot! I understand it's a lot quicker to do them that way.

Two friends were supposed to be here tonight so I got pizzas and salad, then one couldn't make it so I have a spare pizza and several helpings of salad... DH can't take dairy so I will have a few lunches ready made.

I've still made very little progress on the list of a couple of days ago: the rhubarb is eaten up and some chicken has gone in the freezer. I got discounted milk today so I'm going to look up how to use the instant pot to turn it into yogurt (I have a  live yogurt starter).

Boiler fixed! And didn't break the bank.
In freezer: 2 portions hm beans (with mirapoix), 1 portion ham stock, half a hm boiled gammon (sliced). Pack garlic frankfurters (TooGoodToGo)
Cupboard in: 2x packs bacon crisps (TGTG)
Out: tonight will be peas to make ham and pea soup.
Some beans, stock and shredded ham for lunch with more of the beetroot took out a few days ago.
@Cherryfudge, i've never had a pressure cooker, but know mum uses it for bean soup.

    Great! :)

My Instant Pot does all sorts of things that I'm afraid to try but I've got yogurt in there and (hopefully) 'yogging' right now. I must follow your Mum's example and try a bean soup in there on pressure cooker mode because I do like it and I have the ingredients and I HAVE to get over my thing about pressure cooking! :D

Out: liver for liver and onions tonight, and I made some mash to use up potatoes from the cupboard. also the last of a box of red wine stock cubes and (not in t=witht eh liver and onions) the last of a 6-packetof crisps.

In: a few more tins and packets, having reviewed my emergency supplies (in case we get ill, have a power cut, get horrendous weather).

The yogurt seems to have worked better than expected! I now have a couple of pints of HM yogurt... anyone know how long it keeps, please?

I finished up the cut up salad from yesterday and the liver and onions were very good. I added a red wine stock 'gel' which went nicely and finishes off a box of same. Now the store cupboard potatoes are all cooked, trimmings are in the compost and there's some mash to use up somehow. Meanwhile the freezer remans full, and the fridge nearly so.

    In: mash
Out bacon (gone off :( ), potatoes, one portion of liver.
