In going to put more effort into this. I had the snowed in/new baby nesting cupboard, which turned into the brexit cupboard which turned into the pandemic cupboard and an extra freezer.
Some things we got through quickly, tinned fish always gets eaten quickly but there is tinned fruit and veg and tinned and dried pulses that only I eat there are still plenty of. Rather than buying more food I'm really trying to get through this lot.
I have lots of meals to make with tinned coconut milk and chopped toms over the next couple of weeks. I was shocked to find I had run out of passatta, the second freezer has been emptied and turned off so some progress has been made.2 -
In: two packets of liver, salmon, a large chicken. (I went to L!dl just before closing and the chicken and salmon were marked down. I've seen them throw things out if they aren't sold so despite being really short of storage, I managed to fit these in.
Still eating our way through the baked potatoes: 9 left of 13 now!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Anyone got any ideas what I can do with 36 hard boiled eggs?? Got a bag of them off the deli reduced to 50p.
We have had egg and cress sandwiches (used 6), have pickled another 12 and will put a few more in a curry and a cauliflower cheese - but am now stumped! HELP!!!"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I am really not the right person to suggest things to do with leftover hard boiled eggs, @Frugalista, but I googled and it seems this is a more common problem than I'd have imagined! There are so many websites addressing 'What to do with left over hard boiled eggs'!
19 uses, 5 uses, 25 uses, 36, 40, 35... I expect some are duplicates but wow! Personally, I'd be pickling more as I like them pickled (oh dear, I want to get some now) and it lets you space them out.
I also saw the Martha Stewart page suggests Salad Niçoise which always makes me think of holidaying in France.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I've been lurking for a while and would like to join in.
Basically I've 3 freezers plus one under the fridge, Cupboards are all full plus a pantry. Please don't mention 'barn', I would only fill it
I tend to bulk shop, certainly for meat, I've a veg and fruit plot, but this year they are very neglected so the only things I've been able to harvest are all perennials - asparagus, rhubarb and fruit. I do intend to try and get it going again next year otherwise I think DH will flatten it.
We're both supposed to be retired but our hobby has taken over so it's like a full time job again, except that being older (and creakier) we are slower so don't get quite as much done in the day.
My ideal aim especially in the current economic climate, is to be as self sufficient as possible (without being silly). To only buy 'lost leaders' and to base meals around what I have in store plus the 'lost leaders' I also tend to do a lot of batch cooking as it saves me time and effort in the long run.
I have set myself a weekly food/cleaning budget, I buy what I essentially need and the difference between that and my weekly budget total is spent on 'lost leader bargains'
I am not trying to reduce my 'stocks' but to get the best possible value or use out of them and to have no waste.
Today, I went through the veg drawer in the fridge, chopped and froze any bendy veg to use in soup another day.
