I'm currently a customer of BT (have been for 20 years) and last month negotiated a BT TV package including free NOW TV and Netflix (for £4pm) - total £16pm. I'm also paying £27.99pm for fibre broadband and £7.31pm for landline with 700 mins free calling plan, caller display etc. Total of £51.30 per month for 24 months but with £8 discount making it £43.30 for the first three of those months. I was told I'd have to pay a £20 delivery fee for the new TV box and £9.99 for set up. I disputed both charges, which were removed from my bill. I could have managed with the old box but they insisted on sending a new one and I can and always have, set up my own equipment. (What, like it's hard? Swapping a few connections). I may renegotiate the TV package after three months because I believe prices are set to rise anyway and I'm not keen on that idea.
It really is worth trying to renegotiate any package at any time, though. You don't lose anything. As for loyalty, I always make sure I go on about it, "well, I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years now and . . . " etc.
We don't have any voice operated remote upgrade though. I don't want it because I can just imagine what will happen. One of us will be talking to the TV and then another will be shouting from another room, "what??! what did you just say?!" and then will begin a never ending, very boring series of shouted explanations. That's what happens now when one of us is talking to the cat, so I can see it becoming a very annoying thing indeed! Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. georjan said:I am currently a customer of VM and pay £66 pm I went online yesterday and found that I could get a voice activated remote upgrade. I filled in all the relevant information and received a confirmation that I could get it at no extra cost. Then I received an email saying that some info was missing and to contact them. I rang today and they have told me I should not have been able to have this offer, and said I could have it for £2 more than I already pay. This is with £19 discount, I asked if they could not do a better deal, they said no, despite me being with them for 20 years +, I have the order. I told them I was going to contact OFCOM and said they would put me on the offers list🤔, below is the order and I was going to have Collectplus delivery. I was also told I was out of contract, not happy with their excuses.
I was able to get M350, mix it TV (plus entertainment and docs), phone (evening and weekend calls) for £56 a month through retentions, so it maybe worth calling them back if your still in cooling off period
