As explained in my post that looks wrong. I didn’t say you were getting £93/fortnight, just that that is what I would expect which is consistent with the UC deduction. You need to find out from ESA exactly how they arrived at a figure of 18.14/week.becky004 said: I am in Support Group, ESA was being paid at £36.28 a fortnight not £93,becky004 said:
As poppy says, you are not being penalised twice, the ESA is reduced by CA and UC deduct the CA and the reduced amount of ESA.was being penalised twice for the Carers Allowance.
If he is found to have LCWRA he will get the LCWRA element added to his UC amount from the fourth payment onwards.becky004 said: ..they said he probably wouldn't need a face to face health assessment as his problems have been documented since birth, ..

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, thought it was better than starting a new one. So I sorted out the SDP transitional protection and the £120 a month was back dated, it's the ESA that is still causing a problem, cancelled my claim as advised by the lady when I phoned, last fortnightly payment of £36.28 was received on 24th December 2021.
We are now in February, UC are still deducting £201.50 a month for ESA when I haven't received any for 7 weeks, I have left several messages on my journal (6 over 3 weeks, all polite), no response to any of them, telephoned them two weeks ago, told they can't help put it in my journal! Telephoned ESA, I have no claim with them any longer they can't help, I need to rectify it with UC.
Am just wondering is it normal for them to go weeks without responding? My last entry only asked that someone acknowledged that they had received my previous messages (am just concerned there is something wrong with my online account and they are not receiving them), again no response. As appointee for my sons claim, if I message them with a query I usually get a response within 2-3 hours. If it's normal procedure to go weeks without a response that's fine I'll sit tight, if not is there any other way of contacting them? Thanks in advance.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

It’s not unknown. Are you posting messages as payment queries?
Glad the SDP got sorted.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -

If you can see the messages on your journal in your online account, then so can they.becky004 said:Sorry to resurrect an old thread, thought it was better than starting a new one. Be factual and concise about what you are asking, makes it easier to get sensible answers. Are you able to call into your local jobcentre? If so, pop in and ask there and someone should be able to resolve it for you quite quickly. But I agree, you shouldn't have to and it's very frustrating messaging and getting no response.

I am going to guess your SDP was due to your son being over 18 and not in receipt of a qualifying benefit to let you remaining to claim it but that looks like you have that sorted now. Once Your son gets his proper benefit award I would also put in an SMI for him if he qualifies for it because in April you may get an unexpected council tax bill which will also need to be sorted.1

Although 18 he has many disabilities and receives PIP in his own right (enhanced for both).poppy12345 said:Who told you that you wouldn't be worse off? That's not quite correct and you would have been a little worse off by claiming UC.When you claimed UC were you still receiving the SDP in with your ESA or did that stop because your son was no longer in full time none advanced education?I also note that there's no child element in with your UC calculation so has your son now left full time education?I'm sure someone will do a calculation once you answer those questions.
No, SDP wouldn't have stopped because the son also claims Enhanced daily living PIP.

yes but pip is a different department to universal credit/esa and you have to notify esa that you have been awarded pip so they can apply the SDP etc to your claim, as user stated her son was only getting standard rate so as far as ESA department are concerned she lived with an adult only claiming Universal credit and until that was fixed was probably the reason they didnt automatically apply the sdp.0

Hoogle said:as user stated her son was only getting standard rateI'm assuming you didn't read what i quoted, the son is claiming Enhanced PIP for both parts, as quoted. Regardless of that the SDP is awarded when claiming any daily living part of PIP, providing the other criteria applies. OP was already claiming the SDP in their ESA when they claimed UC so they were entitled to the SDP transitional protection.Reading threads before commenting does help.1
