Hi lady, thanks I’m eating a lot of dhal lately so that must be helping 😆 I did switch to wholemeal everything recently after I was told I was pre diabetic, it’s tricky being veggie but having to eat a steady amount of some veg due to medication, all in all I’m just very awkward.

Oops where have the last few days gone 😳
Nothing much happening here are around the January lull, I’ve overspent on the food shop, I think down to the fact that I’ve changed my diet really, I think it’s been 50% salad 😆 I’ve got a month free from water costs in Feb so I have borrowed that from the budget and popped £50 to a separate account to get us through to the 2nd when I can use the grocery card again, the other £49.66 I’ve sent to my personal spends which has bought a few bits. Food spends including the extra £50 and overspends will be about £475 ish instead of the £420 budgeted 😩 I wouldn’t mind if the weight was falling off but it’s not 😂
Off to hospital to get my inr (warfarin) levels checked now, will park and walk in the rain and wind rather than paying 😆 then meeting best friend at the gym. Cooking for dh is done for this weekend, he’s had the last of the Xmas leftovers from the fridge in a bours@in and chorizio pasta yesterday and has spag Bol and chilli twice this weekend. I need to buy some more veggie sausages as bought 2x boxes of six and had three last night with veg and ds2 and dil joined me and ate the other nine. It’s a never ending round of cooking, I can’t wait to go away on my next cruise and waft around deciding what food to eat that other people have cooked 😬
No update on the work situation for dh still, they keep asking my brother what’s everyone decided to do? There has been no suggestion of what they are proposing though except we might move, not sure how anyone could react to that with an answer?! A very unkind what to treat people, leaving them worrying and saying nothing after a fairly casual brief conversation.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
Thats awful. I suppose one answer is to play the daft laddie and say "Do? What do mean? We are all coming to work as normal of course" and force them to say more. Plus of course never discuss it one to one, call everyone together if a boss person appears or even better get a proper sit down meeting. And of course either take notes or pop a phone down and record it then type up later and email asking if this is an accurate note of the meeting. If they aren't going to treat them properly, they will have to circumvent them and start getting things down dated and in writing for their own re records.
I'm sure everyone has checked government dot UK for redundancy and notice rights

Sounds good on the groceries front. I'm veggie too.
Upping fibre, protein and water helped me lose 90lb in the last two years.
Awful about the work thing and that you are chilly🥶7 -
Thanks Daisy, last week I went to the factory and it was along the lines of nobody say anything to them, wait and see, yesterday I went back after hospital as it’s close and two of the four ( incl my brother) have told them they are definitely going 😳 they have told my brother they will move two of them near enough straight away and leave the other two to clear out and sort stuff over what I’m assuming will be the notice period on the factory. Dh is still unsure of what he will do thus far. I’ve told him do do what ever he wants, walk out now and tell them to ( insert fav swear word here!) off, we have the offset and he has a little bit of a cushion in the business account. This weekend he’s digging around to see what the costs will be for us while it’s empty, commercial property is kind of the reverse of residential lets so the tennant has to pay everything for it like maintaining boilers, safety checks and repairs and other costs like service charges (the biggy) so new costs for us are incoming while it’s empty!Al, ninety pounds 😱 that’s amazing, well done! You must feel so much better for it 😊 I’m tracking everything and eating really well and not a lot is happening, I’m eating less and way better than before, I’m starting to get a bit worried it’s the medication I’m on 😩
Well I’ve been naughty and ordered a new dress for my birthday cruise, it was on vint@d so £8.34 including all postage and fees, a dark blue sequin number, it’s one I have in black already that’s from amaz@n (still on there for over £40) hopefully it fits! Sometimes you just need a pick me up 😬
My head is a whirring mess at the moment of what will dh do for his work, where should we live when the final two move out, how will my health be, I’m turning fifty which is quite a milestone, empty nest worry, will ds2 move further away, weight loss being a pain. All stuff that will of course sort itself out one way or another. I don’t feel particularly stressed or worried about it all it’s just there hanging around. I think last year I kind of looked at this year through rose tinted glasses, I will be fit and better, lots of holidays booked and dh and I will be entering a new mortgage free era with some cash and fun to be had.Things are still pretty good and I’m pretty much recovered so I guess that’s all that really matters, nothing ever runs smoothly does it 😁
Plans for today :
Meet friends for coffee somewhere new in town (dh at work first thing)
Possibly meet ds1 and girlfriend in his local taproom before he goes off to football
make a lasagne for tomorrow
make some spicy quorn mix for fajitas
do some washing
Post a parcel
collect a parcel
Buy salsa, quorn sausages, mustard and eggsMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -

You do have a lot going on all at once, but the "It will all work out in the end" attitude is a great one to have. Hopefully things sort themselves out one way or another before too long.
Is it worth speaking to your Dr about the meds and possible impact on weight loss?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
It would be great if he can use this time to his advantage, identify anything (and even get potental work lined up in a notebook so he knows what order he will need to look for trades in once he has a firm date so he doesn't have to keep thinking about it) that will need done on the place before it can be advertised that would be a good use of his time.
Naturally his focus just now will need to be split between being an employee (getting his employers out/other workers sorted) and a building owner (keeping his building in best possible state to be relet quickly). So challenging times for you both. But you like a challenge !!! Lol, sorry I know its not this type of challenging you were hoping for.
On a side note - do you ever book fred olsen cruises? I just got my wi card through (3 years late but long story) and the Scottish lot seem to have links with several companies for % off and they have 10% off which is probably worthwhile. Might be worth joining up if the English wi have similar schemes

Hi bargainhunter, thanks I hope that’s the case 😁
Southcoast, I’ll give it a bit longer and then maybe ask the gp, I’ve googled the individual medications and the only one which has a slim chance of weight gain is the statin I’m on.Hi Daisy, he’s already got his friend the builder next door to start doing a quote to do up the unit, he has all trades so it should be easy to organise luckily. Nothing can be done until they have gone though as we are taking huge heavy old printing machines as well as a lot of other stuff, it’s bursting! No I’ve not cruised with Fred Olsen, I’ve seen them on tv and it does look a bit older demographic wise so I’m not sure I would? They do have some good Arctic ones that I did look at but didn’t book in the end, we usually go P@O or Princ@ss, we almost went Cunard a few years ago but they cancelled as we were loading the car with luggage to drive to Southampton due to weather, we have booked one for the end of next year with them but I’m us unsure if we can afford it now 😩 10% is a good discount though.Lazy Sunday today, I’ve got the January blues I think 😆 I did have a busy day yesterday though, met friends for a coffee, then ds2 and girlfriend and friends for a drink before dropping them at football, then mums , then the shops to collect a parcel as well the post office and cooking. Today the focus is washing and getting it on the heated airer before DIl nabs all the space 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Oh dear, weigh in day and I’m 0.01 pounds heavier 😆 very annoying when I’ve made an effort to eat well and tracked everything. I’m going to reduce calories a day to aiming for 1400 with a max of say 1500. I wouldn’t go lower than that as I think that’s pretty low for me normally, we will see what happens after another week. The food pot is now down to £7.46 and I’ve still seven days to go 😩 I’ve quite a few bits in the cupboard but we eat a lot of fresh stuff being four adults so it’s going to be tricky! I did get some nice veggie sausages from Aldi last week so will be eating those with some veg most dinners until the budget starts again. I night make some lentil dhal today in the slow cooker as that will do for ds2 and dil for a day or two. I feel like I will be using a bit of my personal spending money to top up as well though, sad times.I did have a result last week as there was jumper I wanted in primarni that I wanted to buy before Xmas but didn’t , it was £17 as it contained wool, a kind of thin v neck , well I went in last week and they were piled up on offer at £3 each 😬 they had three v neck colours and a lovely mustard round neck one, so I bought all four. I’ve been wearing them everyday since, nice and cosy and lightweight for packing so I’m pleased, I find jumpers a tricky one, they are often too bulky. We had a lazy Sunday, dd and her dh popped over on the way back from the cinema and ds2 cooked them all pesto pasta and salad, they stayed so long ds2 started cooking his dinner and dd was doing the same at home so he just cooked for them too, the perfect way to entertain I think, have people over and someone else cooks 😆 I already have my veg and sausages but it did look nice.Plans for this week:
Try to work out what to eat for a week with a little as possible needing to be bought
Gym twice , stick to healthy eating and hope!Cinema with at least two, possibly three of the kids weds to see the Bob Dylan film
Work out an what our emergency budget is, ie. no rent and a lower wage and what holidays we have booked and when the balances are due
Give the kitchen/ovens another deep clean like before Xmas but not inside cupboards this time
Get listing on vinted again
Thats it, hope everyone had a good weekend 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7
