That little yellow dish was only 50p Maman.
There are loads of charity shops near me. I bought a furry green throw and a furry red cushion this morning along with another pretty vase. I seem to have gone off minimalism since moving house! The throw will come in handy once it gets cold and they are Christmassy colours.
They do make a bigger deal of Fall/Halloween in the US Chanie. I'm on another forum with quite a few Americans and they do lovely things with their houses on there.:)
I was supposed to meet up with a woman from that same forum in Brighton but the announced train strikes have changed my plans. I have just cancelled my hotel and hope I will get my train tickets refunded. I can't remember if I said this but I have "known" that woman for 10 years on that forum and we were finally going to meet face to face. I'm very annoyed at how many of my plans have been scuppered this year, especially after 2020.
Oh well, at least I have York next week. It is a pretty place to visit. When I checked the weather it said it might rain which would be a pain as it is still sandal weather so it would mean wearing boots or trainers instead.
Not much fabbing at the moment. I want to dye my hair this weekend and I want to pick out two outfits for next week. I did buy a red Next blouse yesterday from a chazzer so I might wear that with a skirt, tights, boots and my denim jacket one day. Then I would only need to get a different top or dress for the next day.4 -
Hello Ladies,
Thanks Maman and Chanie
Maman I too found both of Candice's books a bit of a culture shock. As I am 60 years old, I do not know anyone who is an influencer personally, but know of their existence. My daughter who is 30 years old and my son who is 22 years old could no doubt reel off the names of lots of influencers, but my life is not lacking for not knowing any influencers.4 -
Hello Ladies,
Yesterday I went to the Ritzy cinema in Brixton to watch 3 films. I watched the period drama Mr. Malcom's List, then The Forgiven and then Queen of Glory. My favourite was Mr. Malcolm's List which was a 9.5/10 for me.The Forgiven was a little too predictable for me, so 7.5/10 for me and Queen of Glory was also predictable but was disappointing, as the camera work and the quality of the whole film did not live up to my expectations. Even though the story could have been powerful, the delivery fell short. For me Queen of Glory was a 6.5/10.
As I used my Tesco Clubcard vouchers to buy the 3 cinema tickets for £3 each, I only spent £2.10 cash on the 3 booking fees.
The last time the Ritzy was this busy on a Saturday was before the pandemic. It was good to see large numbers watching each film once again.
It was lovely to sit outside in the warm weather in Windrush Square between films. I took my own bottle of water and snacks to the cinema as usual. This keeps costs down for me and also I eat healthier snacks. I went to a large Tesco supermarket on Acre Lane to get myself a sandwich meal deal between the 2nd and 3rd film.
I was unpleasantly surprised to find that such a large Tesco has hardly any checkouts with people working on them. You now have a large area for self checkout baskets and a new area for self checkout trolley loads of shopping. The queue for the self checkout baskets was so long, but I had no choice but to join it.

I did buy Queenie after your recommendations on here, but I haven't read it yet. My husband has been borrowing my kindle for work as he wanted to read The Demi Moore autobiography I just read. I found that very interesting.
Tomorrow we are repainting the shed and staining the decking. Then we are going to a local bar for dinner with my brother. They have quite a nice menu with lots of vegan options as we went there a couple of weeks ago. I'm looking forward to checking out the charity shops in York later this week. I did buy a black and white M&S dress at a chazzer yesterday.
I bought a Fitbit recently and it is helping me monitor my sleep and making me get in my steps each day. I woke up feeling very anxious this morning. I sometimes get this feeling like I have had loads of caffeine when I haven't, the psychologist I was seeing said it is panic disorder. It started when my dog was very ill on a drip for a month back in 2018? It isn't as bad as it used to be but sometimes I feel like my heart is racing and like I'm going to have a panic attack out of nowhere! I went for a long walk on the beach and the park today to try an distract myself. 94 minutes of walking. I do feel better and less stressed.:)2025 GOALS

@sugarbaby125 what an amazing (and MSE) marathon cinema day.@Wednesday2000 sorry to hear about your heart racing, but your beach walk sounded like the most perfect way to manage it.
my children go back to school tomorrow and I’m looking forward to getting back to a bit of normality. It will be nice to be able to work in peace and quiet. I’ve done lots more decluttering and have a pile of bags to take to various places.4 -
Hello Ladies,
Chanie, it was such a treat to be able to watch 3 films in one day at the Ritzy.
Wednesday it is good that you know what helps you when you are feeling anxious or have a panic attack. I read Demi Moore's autobiography Inside Out earlier this year. It was harrowing in places and she was really let down by those she loved and trusted. Is that the book you read?
I am having a relatively quiet week, as I have only booked one theatre ticket and no cinema tickets for this week. I am catching up on television programmes and reading. I am going to my Great nephew's 1st birthday party on Saturday then to Theatre Peckham in the evening to watch the play Fragments.
I have booked an appointment with my Doctor for next week. I just need to discuss all of my ongoing health issues with her.

Yes, it was Inside Out. I forgot she dated Emilio Estevez. Ashton Kutcher didn't come across very well at all in the book!2025 GOALS

I didn’t realise Demi dated Emilio. I can well imagine that Ashton didn’t come across well, but Ashton and Mila seem happy.3

Hello Ladies,
Wednesday, the way Ashton Kucher treated Demi Moore was quite disgraceful. Chanie you would have to read the book to see why that is my opinion. It is not about a man simply having an affair when married.
I went to the mental health and wellbeing discussion group at Blackfriars Settlement. We had to decamp to a different room as there were builders erecting scaffolding outside the building and the noises were so loud, we could not hear each other in our usual room. It was another productive discussion. There were so many topics being discussed that were relevant to what most of us are going through.

RIP HM.
She had her own distinctive style and I am going to miss her matching coat and hers alongside her bags.5
