I've been reading along but somehow not got around to posting.🤔
It'll be brilliant having your home office all set up @chanie. You'll be able to just shut the door when your working hours are done. I'm all for the flexibility of WFH but I think it's really important to have some separation between work and home.
I had to laugh @Wednesday2000. At first glance I thought you wanted a passport to go to Wales! 🤣 I hope you enjoy your trip when it comes. We needed new passports this year too. We were extremely fortunate as we applied in February and they came within 2 weeks, just before all the problems started.
We're hoping to arrange a trip somewhere in late September or early October. I'm going to have a proper look at the weekend but I'm thinking either to resurrect the trip to Belfast that was cancelled in March 2020 or to go to Kent as we'd like to see both Hever and Leeds castles and visit Canterbury. Another alternative is to book a European city break which might be cheaper. 🤔
All things considered @sugarbaby125, an hour wasn't too long to wait for your blood test at the hospital considering the number ahead of you. It's good that you can just drop in and weigh yourself at your GP surgery. AFAIK, the scales at our surgery are all inside consulting rooms. I don't weigh at home as I know if I bought scales I'd be a bit manic with them. As I lost my weight with Slimming World, I can go every 8 weeks free of charge. If I need to go in between then I'll go to Boots but it's £1 a time there.
Good weather continues here so still wearing sandals. 😊 I need to make an appointment. I took the polish off my nails this morning and hadn't realised how long they'd got. I love having a pedicure but podiatrist is better for my feet. Need to decide. 🤔5 -
@Wednesday2000 I think you have done remarkably well to relocate like you have done. Some of the delays weren’t your doing, but it sounds like it has all worked out well in the end. You definitely deserve a holiday, whatever you decide to do.
@sugarbaby125 your day does sound busy, but productive. I love the way you combined your hospital appointment with organising a nice Groupon dinner for you and your children. That’s what I call great planning.
my children go back to school next week and it will be good to get back to normality. I just need to get their school shoes, which I’m going to do this week. Normally, I’m much more organised than this and would have had everything sorted by now.

Hello Ladies,
Maman, good to see you posting again. Yes, the hour went so quickly. It meant I had an enforced rest and I really needed it.The nurse offered to accompany me to the phlebotomy department so that I could jump the queue, but I did not think that would be fair.
Chanie my play is called Stop In The Name Of Love. It is a story about a relationship between a thirty something Black woman and a thirty something Black man. After 18 months, the woman wants the man to commit to her. The man is not interested, he wants the status quo to remain. They argue and make up over the next few days and nights. It culminates in a violent argument, where all of the woman's pent up anger and frustration is unleashed which pushes the man to a single act of violence which has catastrophic results for the both of them.
I went to The Garrick Theatre to watch The Drifter's Girl again this afternoon. I had a £75 ticket which had only cost me £15, so I had a really good seat 4 rows from the stage on the end of a row. That way, I can move my legs around and put them in the aisle when necessary, to stop my arthritic joints seizing up. I spent the whole musical singing and dancing along in my seat. I had such a fabulous time.

I bought some autumn decor. I want to get some orange or red blankets too. I'm going to look around the chazzers later.

I'm sure you'll have a good time in Cardiff @Wednesday2000.😊
We walked along the barrage because DD1 wanted to see the Roald Dahl crocodile. It's good to have a purpose for a walk.

I like your autumn themed decor bits. I think my favourite is the little dish with the candle holder on but the small vase is useful too.
I've been working through various bedroom drawers and cupboards this week, to keep decluttering in check. Earlier in the week, various old tops and socks went to the bin and a few bits in the bag for the CS. I've just got my everyday wardrobe to go through. I know there are shoes in there that I won't wear as I so rarely wear heels these days.
I've been checking what I have in the way of really warm clothing. I know I'm fine for outdoors but I really must wear more indoors to help keep the heating lower. I don't mind sitting cuddled into a throw in the evenings but during the day I'm not going as far as many OS posters who say they wear woolly hats. Of course, I have massive sympathy for those who just won't be able to pay their bills but fortunately I'm not in that position. I've got plenty of thermal tops although could do with replacing the black ones. I had a quick look in Sainsbury's but no stock in yet. I'm sure they'll sell out PDQ so I'm keeping an eye out. Last year I was very pleased with my slipper boots too so I'm waiting for those to arrive in the shops as well.
Thanks for the precis of your play @sugarbaby125. I've almost finished Candice Carty Williams' second book and I've found it a bit of a culture shock. I think both books describe in detail ways of life that I only know exist but have no experience of. The main character is fairly obsessed with Instagram and being an influencer which I know is a thing but it's her relationships which are an alien world to me. Of course none of us know what goes on behind closed doors but I know people of her age and I'm sure (am I?🤔) that her way of life is unusual. Maybe it's not and I just mix with different people. It's certainly challenged my thinking.
It's overcast here but still fairly warm. I've loved this hot summer except for that couple of days when it was too hot to go out. Hopefully autumn will be mild and colourful.5 -
@Wednesday2000 I really like your autumn decorations as well, the pumpkins are really cute. I think autumn decorating is quite popular in America, or maybe it’s just popular with influencers.
@sugarbaby125 thanks for the sneakypeak about your play, I’ve been itching to ask you about it, but didn’t want to do so until you’d made a decent start.
@maman like you, I’m also checking our winter clothing to see what we have and what we may need.Last winter, I managed to not turn the heating on until after 2pm (so the house was warm when the children got home from school) and managed with my dressing gown and hot water bottle. I’m going to try and avoid turning the heating on until as late as possible, if I can, as it will just be me working from home during the day.4
