Great reading about everyone's plans. So inspiring.๐
Not seen @Wednesday2000 for a while, hope all is OK. ๐ค๐
I know it's not the be all and end all but I think losing weight was the most important thing that made me feel so much better about myself. There's not a day goes by that it doesn't make me feel good. Personally I'm a Slimming World fan but everyone has to choose a healthy way of eating that suits their lifestyle. Good luck to any of you that have losing weight as a resolution. You won't regret it.
Decorations are down here too. I'm not sorry to see the back of the indoor ones as the rooms look better uncluttered to me but I shall miss the wreath on the front door and the outside lights. We don't go mad but just to see some lights twinkling as I pull in to the drive always cheers me up. All I have now is one sad solar light. It was a fun gift at Halloween of a little pumpkin face on a spike which is in one of the plant pots. I think I'll look around for some more just to smile at me. ๐
I'm keeping up with all my fabbing routines although I need to make a couple of appointments. My hair could do with cutting and I'll either go to the nail bar or podiatrist. My feet have been so good lately, I think a pedicure would be sufficient, cheaper and prettier.ย
I'm also trying my best to finish off beauty products rather than buy more. So much of my stuff seems to last forever! All I seem to have replaced for months is moisturiser, eye cream, facewash and body lotion which I use every day. I've switched from Clinique to CeraVe for my facewash and it's every bit as good. I'm using up some foundation that's a bit claggy for me by mixing with a little moisturiser for a tinted moisturiser, very mse. ๐
Bitterly cold here all day and now it's raining but nice and cosy indoors. ๐9 -
Allie....of course you are welcome to use the "Radical Transformation" mantra. ย Let's aim for some biiiiig changes. ยRe the dermoligica - when I did my beauty therapy training, the college used dermologica, they swore it was the best. ย I was able to buy it at a good discount, alas not anymore. ย Hey ho, it is expensive but my skin likes it, so I shall consider it an investment. I have only been using it a couple of weeks and already my skin has undergone a "radical transformation". It looks and feels so much better. ย At the moment I am buying it off eBay but if anyone knows anywhere cheaper do let me know. ย ยWell ladies have you remembered that today is Fab Friday. It's bitterly cold here but I made the effort, admittedly no make up but with my mask and my tinted glasses no one sees my face at the moment and Im ย resting my skin. ย And tbh now that my skin is looking so much better, I feel quite happy to go without face make up, just a bit of eyeshadow, brow powder and mascara and Im done. ยI've had a really good charity shop haul today. ย They had a sale on so some amazing bargains. ย A large mirror ยฃ4, 3 brand new faux suede cushions in a really fabulous purple ยฃ2 each, and a NWT maxi dress, in a sort of black, white and tan geometric print. ย I rarely buy patterned clothing, definitely not flower prints which just look silly on me, tending to prefer block colour but seeing as it was only ยฃ2.80 I thought I'd give it a whirl. Although new it has a definite 70s vibe, ยI'm currently watching a series called "Halston". Played by Ewan McGregor who I just love, he seems to be good in everything he does. And he's easy on the eye too. ๐For those who haven't heard of Halston he was a very influential American Designer during the 70s and 80s. ย Apparently it was he who championed faux suede and made it available to the mass market. He called it ultra suede. ย ยI love the stuff, it looks and feels like the finest soft buttery suede but of course it's a fraction of the price. ย Get real suede wet and it's ruined, but this stuff is even machine washable. I have several garments made from it and I often use it in soft furnishings. It looks and feels really luxurious for such an inexpensive fabric.ยIf anyoneย ย is interested in interior design I have found some great You tube videos, called House of Valentina. ย Some great ideas on how to achieve a high end designer look without breaking the bank. ยI have been doing some batch cooking, catching up with laundry and have made a start on some decluttering. A bag of books to the charity shop today. ยHave a great weekend.ย7

Hello Ladies,
My biggest goal of 2021 was that I would not buy myself any shoes, sandals, boots, clothing or jewellery throughout the year, no matter how tempted I was. I do not need any more footwear, any clothing of any description and I have enough solid gold and solid silver jewellery to complement all of my clothes. I achieved this goal. Iย also achieved my goal of finding new creative writing courses that were socially distanced and wrote more new poems. I also achieved my goal of doing a lot more public performances of my poetry. I also returned to going to the cinema and theatre.ย
Blackfriars Settlement turned out to be a lifeline for my mental health, as the weekly group discussions allowed me to open up about any issues I was going through.ย
2021 for me was a year of far more positive experiences than negative ones.ย
I did a lot of spending in 2021 for gifts for family and friends birthdays and Christmas presents.ย I went overboard with buying gifts though, so I did not use all of them. I have started 2022 with quite a haul of gifts. I have 2 birthdays of friends this weekend and one of my niece's birthday was on the 4th January. I also had the gift bags to put their presents in.ย
I am feeling positive about whatever 2022 brings my way.ย8 -
I do admire your positive attitude sugarbabyย - you are an inspiration ๐.
One thing I have really concentrated on since the pandemic started was looking after my skin and it has paid dividends - although I must say it it mainly my face and I must try and introduce a more regular body routine too otherwise I will have a young looking (for my age) face and a wrinkly body ๐ฑ. I love the Espa and Decleor skincare ranges - they too are rather pricey but worth it for me as they seem to work with my skin.
Not too much fabbing going on at the moment as I have been ironing and doing some housework but I am hoping to settle down with a nice Badedas bubble bath this evening, a glass or two of wine and a read of my current book โThe Wild Silenceโ by Raynor Winn which is the sequel to her first book โThe Salt Pathโ - well worth a read in my opinion.
Have a Fab Friday everyone and a lovely weekend.7 -
Like you, I only wear light make up for everyday @helensbiggestfan. Unfortunately I look very pale at this time of the year so I've been using tinted moisturiser for a bit of colour in the evenings. I'm really pleased with the eyebrow tints I've been having so with that and mascara I look far more awake. I like a brow highlighter too rather than eye shadow. My current favourite is a very easy to apply pencil but they seem to have been discontinued. This seems to happen a lot with Benefit. I read somewhere that if something doesn't sell well in the US then they discontinue regardless of popularity in the UK. ย I also like this one which works well on cheekbones too. I'm sure other brands do highlighters.

Thanks for reminding me about Badedas @sukeyboo. I just adore the scent of that. My favoured rose one from John Lewis has now also been discontinued so I'm on the look out for a replacement. I notice it's on offer in Superdrug too so will pick some up when I'm next out shopping.ย

Very casual, but I did make an effort for Fab Friday. I wore blue from head to toe. well, not quite as I had navy socks but not shoes! ๐คฃ I'm very pleased with the hoodie/cardigan that I bought in John Lewis a while back.
I enjoyed your review of what you achieved in 2021 @sugarbaby125 and pleased that you've got so much from the Blackfriars Settlement activities. Still waiting to read some of your poems. I do hope they put them on the website one day.๐

LL I enjoyed Halston, what an insight it was, quite surprising I thought when I told people I had watched it, they didnโt know who he was.ยI hope you all enjoyed Xmas and the new year bring health and happiness to you all.ยFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6

Great review SUgarbaby....
2021 for reasons I wont go into here was my worst year ever, worse even than the year my husband died, so that is why I have chosen "radical transformation" as my mantra. Anyway I've drawn a line under it and am determined to move forward. ยI still have some health issues to address, thankfully nothing too serious but i do want to do some timely interventions to get me back up to full health. As part of the process today I am going to ransack my kitchen cupboards and get rid of absolutely everything which could jeopardise my planned healthy eating programme. ยIf it's not in the house then I cant be tempted to eat it. ย ๐. ยI have been eating unwisely (for me and my food intolerances) and I am paying for it. Weight gain is part the story but also digestive discomfort, joint and muscle pain, headaches. ย Anyway I have bought a couple of cookery books and bought some coconut and almond flours so will be experimenting. ย I also need to go dairy free for a while. What a ย performance but I know I will feel better if I get on track. ยLike many of us when life happens I sometimes forget to take proper care of myself. ย So silly isn't it but we all do it. Poor food choices, lack of exercise, losing interest in how we dress, forgetting simple skin care routines. ย And that's why Frumpdom is often the end result. ย That's why we are here though and that's what we are going to put right. ยSo this weekend it begins in earnest,ย today I'll ย blitz the kitchen cupboards and make a list of all the grain free/dairy free items I need. ยI am another Badedas fan. ย Love the smell. ย7 -
Hello Ladies,ย ย
Thank you Sukeyboo and LL
I went to the Park's Edge Bar and Restaurant in Herne Hill yesterday evening to celebrate my friend A's birthday. It was freezing so I dressed in warm evening clothes. I had a great time with everyone.ย

I'm just copying and pasting this from another thread on here.
I have had a disastrous xmas which I won't go into details about on here.
I found out in the new year that my buyer couldn't get a mortgage extension so the chain has fallen through on our side. We are having an open house this weekend and we have nearly 25 people showing up so hopefully we will get a buyer. We also got a call from a rival esate agent to tell us that our house in underpriced in their opinion, so hopefully we might get a higher offer than we did last summer.
We are meant to view more houses this weekend just in case our sellers don't want to wait for us. We want to see more options as we were only looking for two weeks last year. It seems like a lifetime ago!
If we can't get viewings we are just going to the coast for the day to go to a new restaurant and see the new Scream film. It's the first time I've been out socally since the start of December. At least that will be something nice to do instead of just decluttering the house and cleaning!
I just heard that we have one house viewing to see on Saturday but the estate agent just has to check the time.
I'm going to colour my hair tonight and do my nails tomorrow ready to go out. I think I will wear my black short skirt and DM boots and my red chazzer bargain mac. I really like that coat and I'm so glad I snapped it up when I saw it.
I have been decluttering so much and I noticed that I really need some new tops. I will hit the chazzers next week.:)6
