Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit low LL - do hope you perk up soon.
Chanie - your tummy bug sounds horrible - are you feeling better today?
Your trip sounds wonderful Sheila - what a lovely birthday surprise.
Fabbing has just been a home manicure and polish - don’t tend to bother painting my toenails at this time of year but must start looking after my feet a bit better ready for when they are on show come the Spring.

I said on the other thread that I was very envious of your holiday Sheila.:)
Tom Cruise really does look young for his age. I was thinking that when I was watching him on James Corden's show.
I liked Matthew McConaughey in that rom com with Kate Hudson. How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. I remember thinking that was funny when I saw it at the cinema.
I finished Reacher last night as we stayed up late to watch all the rest of the episodes. I really enjoyed it. I hardly ever watch anything on Amazon Prime so I was going to see if there was anything else good to watch on there.
My friend has recovered from Covid so I am meeting him and his wife this Saturday to go to a bar and maybe a meal. So I have a few things coming up, seeing my brother Thursday, my shopping trip on Friday and then out at the weekend too. I am probably not doing much for Valentine's day. We will probably just stay in and get a takeaway. I did buy myself some white roses the other day so they should last until next week.
I did get tickets for a concert near to my birthday next month which should be good as I didn't really know what to do for it. I'm going to be 46!5 -
Thanks for the heads up on Reacher, binge watched 5 episodes yesterday, will finish today. Really enjoying it. There's a few films I fancy on Amazon prime, so plenty to keep me amused. One thing I have done is dig out my CD player. For a long time after my husband died I wasn't able to listen to music, but gradually I am starting to enjoy it again without being reduced to a gibbering wreck. Anyway I have set up my player in the kitchen so I can listen to either music or my language CDs whilst I potter about. Have dug out my Italian language CDs. I am going to look for Italian classes too. I want to go to Italy next year (2023) so time to brush up my Italian. Not just a day stop off on a cruise but a proper visit, hopefully Rome.I would love to go this year, but tbh I think moving house will be enough for one year, although I might try and grab a short winter sun cruise later once I've moved and the dust has settled. Covid permitting of course.Having a quiet day today, still feel tired but thankfully fibro pain is easing off now and feel a lot better. Have managed a few stretches today and have been using my massager gizmo.I have booked myself a facial for Thursday. Time for some serious pampering. My skin is much better now since I have been using dermoligica. Still struggling with weight loss though, but that's my fault. Must try harder. 😂.I'm going to finish cleaning up the kitchen, then head out for a walk. If it's not too cold I might try a bit of a garden tidy up. Loads of bulbs coming up but they are covered by dead leaves so really need to gather those up at the least. Plenty of weeds poking through too. 😂.I bought myself some pink roses over a week ago from Aldi. They are still going strong and look as good now as they did when I bought them. Can't believe how long they have lasted.Right time to get back to clearing up the kitchen, yesterday I washed down all the paintwork. I couldn't believe how much dust there was behind the radiators. 😱😂.7

Hello Ladies,
It has been an eventful few days for me and my family. Shylo's 1st birthday party went really well. We all had a great time, especially the 2 families as we got to know each other better.
My Grandson lost his job, but my sister H who was a HR consultant advised him that he could Appeal the decision to sack him and helped him to draft his Appeal. My Grandson was completely distraught, but I stepped in to make sure the party could still go ahead. Today my Grandson found out his Appeal was successful and he can return to work on Monday. So happy and relieved for him.
My younger son, who lives at home, was informed this morning by the NHS that he had come into contact with someone who has Covid-19. He had to go and take a PCR test locally and we have to wait for the results. He started to feel unwell yesterday evening, but we just thought he was coming down with a cold or the flu. We just have to wait and see.
I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my right kidney area for the last few days, but today the pain is nowhere near as acute as it had been.
Last Thursday, my washing machine broke down!It was the worst timing, with the party approaching. I had to go to the launderette on Friday, then again on Monday and Tuesday with the help of my son. I allowed him to go home while the dirty laundry was being washed and then I phoned him and he came back to take the wet laundry home, so I could tumble dry it all at home. Finally today, my washing machine insurance company sent a washing machine engineer who soon had it working efficiently again. I will spend today and tomorrow clearing the backlog of washing.
On the way home from the party on Sunday evening, we were delayed for almost an hour, due to a fatality in one of the train stations on the route to London. At least we were sitting comfortably in a warm train. We did not get home until midnight! I did remember to claim the Delay Repay from the train company on Monday as I put a reminder to myself on my mobile phone.7 -
How are you feeling now Chanie?
LL - I was the same when my husband had cancer. I didn't go to concerts or even listen to music at home for years. It is strange how some people react to traumatic events.
Sugarbaby - what a nightmare. I have to do a load of laundry once a day with my pets to keep on top of things, I hate having to go to a local launderette.2025 GOALS

@helensbiggestfan enjoy your facial tomorrow.I’m thinking of trying Skin+Me when I’ve used up my current stash of skincare products. The products are made up specifically for you and are prescribed by a Dermatologist so it’s medical grade. The only downside is that you have to pay a month subscription.
@Wednesday2000 I’m feeling much better now thank you.
@sugarbaby125 you have a very eventful few days. I hope your DS is okay of he tests positive and it’s nice to hear that your DGGS got to celebrate his birthday in style.
A few years ago, my washing machine broke -the door wouldn’t open and it had clothes in it. I opened it up, fiddled with a few wires and when I tried to turn it on, it worked! We got about another 6 months out it it, before it happened again and I knew my luck would eventually run out with fixing it, so we replaced it. But I’m pleased I gave it a go.
im still enjoying working from home permanently and it’s nice to be around for the children more. Next week is half term, so things will be much quieter at work, so I’m looking forward to some downtime.6 -
Hi all, not posted for a long time, life has been pretty horrible for the last couple of years, but I am still reading from time to time.
chanie I am about 2.5 weeks into the Skin+Me treatment, I have slightly sensitive areas on my face so I was quite conservative in filling in the on-line forms. When it arrived I took a few days before I used it daily. No problems so far, have a very bland moisturiser to follow it as directed. I was lucky to find a code for a substantial reduction for 3 month. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)6 -
@maddiemay thanks for your comments about Skin+me. I’m using The Ordinary skincare and whilst it has improved my skin, there is room for a lot more improvement. I still have quite a lot of product to get through before I start though.
Would you mind sharing how you got your reduced offer.4 -

Hello Ladies,
The pain in my right kidney area, is much more manageable today.
After months of liasing with the energy company EDF on behalf of my brother H, he finally has a pre-payment electric meter. He has had 3 Smart meters installed since 2019 and none of them had ever functioned, so it was impossible to read the meters. At first EDF were refusing to install a normal pre-payment meter, saying that they would eventually install a Smart Meter that would function in my brother's black of flats where he resides. Eventually they had to come around to my way of thinking and last Sunday they finally sent one of their engineers to remove the 3rd non functioning Smart Meter and install a normal pre-payment meter.
I am doing the last load of washing and drying, so the rest of today and tomorrow I can take time to destress and relax.5
