I have been picking days depending on how much money I have spare but have tried to cross off all the largest amounts. I think I have finished the corresponding amounts for all the days in December now. Currently up to £146.30.SPC #046 2021- £293.26

I just put in what I have. I dont really use cash as such, so I cant plough lots in. I have been checking off the days in reverse order rather than start at the beginning of the year. Its whatever works for you.savvylondoner said:If following the plan to the letter, how much should now be saved? I need to top mine up!Debt Free - 04/03/23. Total LBM August 2021 £15410.70

There are several ways to tame this beast. Last year I had a spreadsheet with the daily amounts and monthly totals and I also worked backwards once a week so it would all end up finishing in November. Then again, I love me a good spreadsheet!savvylondoner said:If following the plan to the letter, how much should now be saved? I need to top mine up!
But my local Natwest has a couple of temperamental money machines so this year I decided I would go a different route and divvy up the end goal by 12 and put that amount in monthly once I transfer my leftover cash for the week(s) into my 'Treat' account.
Then I just transfer £55.66 a month to a web-saver account with the same bank... and there it can sit until I need it around Chrimble time!
Others just chuck what they can away - to each their own. What is important is you figure out what works for you!
Best of luck and enjoy the challenge!

I have the individual months totals and match which one I can afford each month and put that away. I'm also adding my Quidco payments to the same pot as it's going to be my Christmas spends this yearHurdler said:

I'm saving virtually, daily and in reverse order! This has worked for me for two years but the year before that I did complete the challenge with cash. I still have a number of sealed tins and jars on the go because I do love a bit of coinage! But my daily amount always gets tucked away in my e-savings account and I have a tidy £167.09 so far already this year saving all the biggest numbers. But the challenge is so versatile that it works for everyone in so many different ways and we all end up with a little pot of money for our own something special!

Quick update now have £31.13 in a pot with a mix of daily amounts. Aiming for saving for Christmas as with the way things are going it might be very money tight by then - might even go towards heating! Hope everyone safe after the storms - take care

Hi All
Well done everyone, so many different ways of approaching this challenge which is what makes it so successful.
I'm saving random amounts in cash everyday, depending what is in my purse, and crossing them off my spreadsheet, I started 1st November so that I'll have the funds for Christmas, I haven't counted it all but there is well over £120 already. I have 2 other pots, £2 coins and £1 for every toiletry item I use up as, like Cazzie, I like a bit of coinage, I find I'm less likely to dip into it than if it were in a savings account.
have a great day
