Thats a really good point about buying a too-big house too soon.  And yes, a little shed you could weatherproof into an office would give you much more flexibility.

I'm thinking now of the flat where I did the catsitting gig, in Wandsworth, for my nephew and his wife; its a 2 bed 2 bath, and in the last 6 years that 2nd bed has been so flexible:  a bedroom, an animal sanctuary (for the cats) a dining room (we had Christmas dinner there!) and now a place to stash all the baby clutter - the baby herself is in one of those side-cots that fit onto your bed.  The baby has arrived, they're moving outside London to the town where all his best mates live, it's a win-win.  For you, maybe the Trafalgar Terrace house is the right decision.

Just a thought - is it on the east or the west of the terrace?  That affects where the sun is in evening, after all :)
Thanks Karmacat, see that sounds lovely to me. That's another factor, we don't actually have friends with kids yet (most of our friends want kids eventually, but aren't there yet), so we can't actually just move to 'where all our friends with families live' - they don't exist yet, haha! We were by far the first of our friends to get married too.

And that's a really good question actually! So the gardens are east of the terrace, but there's the twitten in between the houses and the gardens, and the terrace itself is pretty much the lowest row of houses in the area as far as I can tell. So basically when you're stood in the garden it's a twitten and a low row of houses to the west, a taller row of houses to the east, and more gardens towards the south and north.

(I'm going to keep saying the word 'twitten' btw, it's such a good one)

Apparently there are 18 cats living in the terrace too, so you might say I'm a bit smitten with that kitten twitten <3
    😸😸😸

As far as the sun is concerned - it sounds like you're quite shaded, and for me, that would be a good thing, as my skin is crazy - and after all, you're kind of ten minutes walk from the beach, or even the garden at the Brighthelmstone Centre :)

    Bliss.

Indeed! I'm ginger, so can probably spend about 2 minutes outside in the summer before I start getting burned :joy:

It's one of those great local terms, my favourite being 'bungaroosh' (which has quite an amusing Wikipedia article if you're feeling a little bored - my favourite quote from it is that much of Brighton "could be demolished with a well-aimed hose")

Have looked up bungaroosh, well I must say you do learn something everyday! So if I moved to Brighton I will need to learn a whole new vocabulary? 😂🙈 Now I know why Brighton does have its own feel!

Unfortunately most of my friends here probably don't know those words either, but it sure can't hurt to know some of the lingo :joy: I'd recommend the Lewes Bonfire Night celebrations for some even more confusing words and slogans.
