I still haven't actually heard back from them at all, maybe they're ghosting me, but I suppose there's nothing they can do without my solicitor details anyway.

It also just occurred to me that there's a certain irony in me having named my diary 'moving up', given that we're staying in the same place, but moving from the ground floor to the 1st/2nd floor
It was meant to be!

The other estate agent did get back to me in the end. She initially asked for some more reasons and to just make sure we are absolutely certain, but when she asked where we are buying it turned out she also used to live in the area we are in now, so completely understands the appeal
So that was a bit of a relief that she was so nice about us saying no after all.
