    Hello,

    Warning: ramble ahead

I've found MSE to be a great source of reliable prudent advice going back (20 ish?) years, although other things took priority in recent years. I'm now retired so more time but less money so have renewed my attention.

I followed the MSE link to swagbucks thinking that this would be an easy £30 especially given the Experian credit score (which I know only takes a few minutes) accounted for three-quarters of the required 1000 points.

How do I get the rest easily in the next two weeks??

I started one of the surveys, which started by asking what I regarded as very intrusive questions, the sort of thing which I thought could lead to lots of spam or possibly assist identity fraud. I carried on however but before I finished it, it 'declined'. So no more of those.

Ok, games then. I started one which would only have generated 130 points but was clearly going to take in the region of 30 to 40 hours to get to the required level. So which games can generate the remaing 250 points easily?

I have checked the advice regarding regular daily tasks but none seem to generate the necessary amount in time. As for other things, I can't use my browser for swagbucks as nothing seems to be compatible with my Android phone or iPad?

Back to the original point of my ramble, I've always regarded MSE have as giving good advice but here I think they have pointed me down a rabbit hole! Even the Experian score is 'pending' and it's beginning to feel like a time wasting con. Advice please!
Swagbucks is ok and you can earn from it but do not expect it to make you rich, I have been using Swagbucks for about 12 years now and I generate around £25 per month with about 10 minutes effort per day.

Games: I never do more than the 10 points games each day (takes about 2 minutes) - others either do not pay or take ages.
Poll: easy 1 point per day
Discover: I give most of these a miss but there are some quick ones and HideoutTV is worth a look
Swag codes: usually one every day for a quick 2 - 3 SB
Search: always get at least one usually more per day (between 5 - 15 SB per day)
Streak: I never try and go above Goal 1 as this will just cause the AI to raise the daily goal - ( gain around 200 - 300SB per month and also Goal bonus's for December I am due just under 500 bonus SB)
SWAGO - I dont try to complete it and get at least 35 SB per board
Surveys: I try and get one a day but dont ever go for the ones that expect me to spend 30 minutes and I will not allow them to install any plugins!
Swagbutton: definite must to install in your browser (it prompts you when a swag code has been released)
Shopping: we all shop online occasionally (200 SB in the last month shopping online)

Over the years I have bought a TV, Samsung smart blue-ray layer, various books, Music, Car roof box etc. to name a few all bought via Amazon using SB rewards.

There are a few rewards sites out there but from my experience Swagbucks is one of the better ones.
How do you get HideoutTV? I thought all the video options had ended.

Also, are games back working? I tried the card one a few days ago but it didn't credit.

And my searches never seem to work. It took till Boxing Day before I got the Christmas search. What things are good to search? I remember someone said pasta or spaghetti once but that's not working for me anymore.

Hi Semiartificial, just a thought to add to the above advice, if I'm correct the regular Team Challenge should be along in about a week where you could get up to 300sb* if on the winning team in addition to what you've earned during the challenge.
*Edit: the team challenge points are awarded as a discount when redeeming gift cards, which I forget over & over for some reason.. thanks to dave2319 for the reminder.

Semiartificial - the Experian offer says to allow 7 days to credit.
As others mentioned, you can play the free games for 10 SB a day, and the wordsearch one here is easy. Just find about 8 words on the latest game, then exit, and after that you can keep returning to the same game for the next couple of weeks and just leave it open for about 30 seconds before exiting, until you've been credited two lots of 5 SB per day, which happens after goes 2 and 4.
I wouldn't normally recommend redeeming Hideout points to Swagbucks because their rate's very low, but in your case it's worth it to get the 30 quid. Check out the Hideout thread here for codes on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and if you decide to continue with Hideout in a few weeks, I'd recommend redeeming your points to Keep Rewarding instead, where the rate's far better and they also have Loot.tv, which is a similar paid-for-ads-in-videos site that doesn't require much effort at all.
The Team Challenge is worth keeping in mind, although the prizes of up to 300 SB are discounts on your redemptions for gift cards, so it wouldn't count towards your 1000 SB but should be useful when cashing out.
Ziggy - Hideout's on the AdscendMedia wall but you can just use the site directly: https://hideout.co and you need to create an account there, but it's straightforward and an easy site to earn from, although there are better times of the year for ads there than at the moment.

Thankfully you don't need to search for pasta, you can just enter anything! You can earn quicker though, by needing to do far fewer searches to win, if you have your browser's search engine set to Swagbucks - as mentioned here with instructions on how to do that: https://search.swagbucks.com/default-your-search
Normally only takes me about 4-6 searches to get a win, although I only go for one a day since apparently it takes quite a lot more than that to get the second and third.

Hi all. It seems I haven't been getting any of my referral earnings which means can't tick that on Swago. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Has anyone got their referal points recently?  I am not getting any points some days and only getting 1 point instead of 6 and such like from my OH's account when he does a high scoring day.
  • Strange one for me today. Been playing games on the earn as you play system off and on for the past few days. Around 8pmish tonight the points stopped on any of the games I had, but are working for my wife on her phone.

Anyone else ever had this issue?

Playtime rewards it's called sorry. Not play as you earn, just to clarify.

I always take a screenshot as I approach the end of a survey, and if I don't get credited I raise a ticket with Swagbucks.  Swagbucks invariably put through a manual credit quite quickly, usually within the hour;  which makes me think that they know perfectly well that these unjustified DQs are happening.
  • They also told me a little bit about the DQ mechanisms they use --  and made it absolutely clear, that such late DQ did not come from them. it therefore had to have been done by Swagbucks.
To me this sounds like classic affiliate link skimming. I get those DQ's too but I either just chalk it down to part of the system or avoid the survey companies I know it can happen with. Not to suggest others should ignore it, it's always better to screenshot and contact SB, I just can't be bothered dealing with their cut and paste replies that ignore the details you've already given them and their smug, standoffish attitude when contacting them, going around in circles, it's easier on my blood pressure to just accept that 1 in every 10 surveys I do will be skimmed and move on, but that's just me!
