My potato plants (the bits above ground) withered and fell over during the really cold snap. I might dig one of them up and see how the potatoes are - I didn't plant any of them, it's just more from before I had anything to do with the patch, stuff I mustn't have cleared out properly.1

Harvested some of my leeks today for soup for lunch - it was good 😊
I was amazed that they had withstood the snow and freezing temperatures we have had here lately - fair dos!Made some progress on the veggie patch. Topped the bark paths on the patch, down to the compost heap and the water butt, after weeding them (sooooo much bindweed root 😳) and beat back some brambles that grow over the patch from the hedge. It was so good to be outside in the fresh air for so long 😊KKAs at 15.07.25:

There's a fab Facebook group called "Allotment Club - Mind your peas and cues" I'm not affiliated to it in any way but it's a fab little group. It's a closed group but is worth looking up if you're on Facebook. Or there is a fab group called "The allotment shed"0 -
Can I join please? I had a terrible growing year 2022 due to the hot weather and being very heavily pregnant. Hoping to get out in the garden again, but will be focusing on veggies that don’t need much care as the aforementioned bump is now a little distracting cherub!
i love growing carrots, leeks and potatoes- for fun factor of pulling/digging for spuds. Would love to grow swede and celeriac this year as I use these a lot in the winter. Keen to have a go at squash grown vertically as my husband got me a fancy new squash cage for Christmas! As ever will keep going with tomatoes but I don’t have a greenhouse and they often succumb to blight.1 -

Celeriac needs a long growing season so I would start it it early next month. They need some tlc to get them past the teeny stage (protecting from slugs etc) but once that’s done, they are fairly bomb proof 😊
Dont know much about swede but I know Monty often grows his pumpkins, squash etc about vertical supports, so if can, you can! I think his supports for these are fairly robust due to the weight of the plants and their fruit by the end of the season (hopefully!) 😊
