I like that idea! I  often come across good men's shirts in charity shops.  Must experiment when I come out of self imposed isolation and then my trip to America (I fly out two weeks tomorrow, depending on my fit to  fly test)

Ah, they say a good man is hard to find, but obviously their shirts are easier to find  

Have a wonderful time in America - imagine all those shops full of food and clothing and no rationing to speak of!

I'm going to a fandom convention in Atlanta (mostly Sherlock based) and will be celebrating a very significant birthday while I'm there, all being well. 
I probably wont get much further than the hotel, but I have so many people that I  want to catch up with....

Thank you - I'm wanting to go so much that I'm pretending that I don't care  (if that makes sense)...
 Got a load of knitting and decluttering to do in the meantime

Oooh have you got the number? Iv been on the hunt for Peter pan collar shirts but they are never quite the style I want, plus like you I tend to go for tshirt and jumper.

Good evening, I do hope everyone is keeping well. 

I have to apologise, I lost my way ... in between family fiascos and my own health I seem to have lost the last 6 weeks! 

I have a purchase of 3 balls (150g) of wool ... to make a tank top. Came from money i received for birthday so going to class it as a present. 

I have realised that I'm not a spender on clothes .... however I do need to improve my kitchen skills. I have very little time so one pot cooking or slow cooker recipes on a tight you that you enjoy will be grateful for.

@MoneysavingmadGem throw a whole chicken in the slow cooker a drizzle of oil and seasoning to taste. 3 hours high, 3 hours low (so best done in a weekend so you can intervene with the timings) and you have ‘Roast’ chicken. Also handy if you like chicken sarnies, chicken risotto, special fried rice. I throw the carcass back in the slow cooker just cover with water and make chicken stock the next day (handy for the risotto/paella).

In our house,@florianatwobob, we call chicken done in the slow cooker “self carving chicken” because they always fall apart as we try to lift them out.  It still tastes lovely, though.  I put mine on a bed of peeled onions (usually sliced in half), peeled garlic cloves, and carrots and add a splash of white wine.  Most recently, I managed to squeeze potatoes and sweet potatoes around the edges and then nestled the chicken on top.  OMG!  Having soaked up the flavours, the potatoes were to die for.

@MonesavingmadGem, sorry to hear you’ve had a horrible few weeks.  Sit here, by the fire, and I’ll fetch you some Cuban Black Bean Stew.  I’ve made a pot in the kitchen.

1. Soak 500g black turtle beans overnight.  (Cheapest is from W8flower.)
2. In the slow cooker, combine the beans, a roughly chopped onion, 6 cloves of crushed garlic, 2 cubed green peppers, 2 fresh chillies (or use a heaped teaspoon of ground), 150-500g roughly chopped cooking bacon, 1 bay leaf, 1 tablespoon dried oregano, 1 tablespoon of ground cumin, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon of liquid smoke, and enough boiling water to just about cover everything.
3. If you can find one, you can add a smoked ham hock to the pot, for extra meat and flavour. 
4. Cook on high for a minimum of 8 hours.  It has to be “high” for the beans or they won’t soften.
5. Season just before serving and serve with bread, if soupy, or on a bed of rice.
