Pip - I'm so glad you're feeling a lot warmer and nearly back to normal now, it's worrying about what you said. I'm in the RAC and as an old single female I would have hoped a better service from them if I broke down.
Hopefuljoy - I thought I saw someone new when I was hurrying back up the hill home, sorry I didn't stop to welcome you to the village. It will be nice to go in the library again.
I found a memory blanket the other day that I started before the first lockdown, so I've knit a couple of squares onto it, I had to look the instructions up its that long ago.
Hope everybody's keeping fine and well

Delurking to say I'm glad you got rescued in the end Pip.
We used to be with the RAC but left a few years ago. My daughter, early 20's at the time, broke down on the M4. The RAC couldn't tell her how long it would take for someone to get there. She told them she was a single female and nervous about waiting on the side of the motorway. Their advice was if she felt nervous she should stay in the car and lock the doors. Needless to say we would never use them again.6 -
I lost track of this last year, but want to join afresh for this year.
Some silly questions please..
1. If I am buying clothes for others (DH, kids etc) I assume that comes out of my allowance?
2. What happens if DH and I are paying 50:50 because it comes out of my joint account? Do I take half the allowance?!2025 decluttering: 3,491🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I had bad service from the RAC in Oct 2020 when I broke down on sliproad off M5. Waited 45 mins with young DD, escorted off motorway to services by RAC and traffic police as car could limp in 1st gear. That was all fine and good service. Then had to wait for a tow truck and taxi for onwards, 6 hours later I finally got home. Hats off to RAC man who refused to leave me until we were safely in a taxi. Also let me use his phone as mine was broken. I had attended my father's funeral day before and stressed was an understatement.4

I am with Green Flag and would recommend them as they seem to network with lots of local people and get to you much quicker. I have needed to use them twice and they seemed much more organised and keen to help. My lone daughter has RAC included in her insurance and spent 8 hours waiting on her own in an isolated village on her way down to Cornwall last year. She was 120 miles away from me and I ended up driving to her in the middle of the night to keep her company as she was so scared. Only 21 years old at the time and on her way back to university. It took three hours for them to even confirm someone was coming. With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Hullo to the new people! I'm just putting the kettle on, if anyone's thirsty...
And a spend - but it's a late birthday present from my parents, so they used their coupons for it...
400g of Rowan Moordale, which is 70% British wool and 30% British alpaca, and the four skeins are in a beautiful soft rich green which is just the colour of the green bits on snowdrop petals.
I have a nasty tatty old cheap-and-looks-it acrylic cardigan which I hardly ever wear because it makes me sweat buckets and it is poor-quality acrylic and looks it, but I have kept it all these years even though I wear it maybe once every two years which is all I can stand..... kept it because the colour is so beautiful. I wore it today in hopes I could find something that was a decent green to knit a replacement and get rid of it - knowing of course I could never find anything that lovely a shade because greens are notoriously hard to find a wide range of, in yarn or fabric... and there it was!
It is Shade 00021 if anyone's that curious
So I shall knit a replacement over the next few months and have a lovely cardi I can and will actually *wear*!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
