I've had to spend another 19 coupons because I've somehow come on holiday without any underwear or socks! Or a jacket, but I've managed without that. I've also dropped my phone in the sea so am writing this on my kindle. In my defence I was still pretty tired even a week ago, although I kidded myself I wasn't. Despite all this I'm having a good break - sunnier than expected and two cream teas and a steam train ride to date.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

Diminua - Sorry to hear about the emergency holiday shopping - but at least you were able to get some and weren't forced to go commando.I've managed to forget most things at some point. One being a walking day out where I had left my waterproof on my bunk and only realised when the heavens opened a few miles away from where we were staying and I opened my rucksack to find that I had no waterproof. I completed the walk in a thin plastic survival bag with a hole cut out for my head to go through. My worst holiday forgetting was on a holiday in Iceland. We were backpacking and had taken fairly minimal clothes. The plan was for a luxurious 3 pairs of trousers (if really lightweight required we only take 2) for 2 weeks. Planning to wash as needed.I realised I had forgotten one of the pairs not a problem as I still had 2 pairs (or so I thought). I then realised that the other pair I had brought was much too small.
I had bought 2 (as I thought identical pairs of trousers in a shop off the same rack. I had only tried one on as they were the same size - both looked identical. I think that what had happened was a men's pair must have been put back on the rack in error (as the sizings were L for both). I must have tried on the men's pair which had fitted fine. I had meant to bring both pairs but had only picked up the one that was smaller. So I had 1 pair of trousers and places we were going to did not have anywhere that sold clothes (apart from many knitted icelandic jumpers and the occasional tourist t-shirt). I had to borrow a pair of OH's trousers as my other pair for the fortnight! Luckily he had brought one that fitted me. 2 weeks with only one pair of trousers would have been a bit difficult. I now make sure I try on all pieces of clothing when I buy them (even if they are the same size!)

Oh @diminua! I hope a) that you are getting a restful break regardless and b) that your phone will recover.
My personal holiday packing nightmare comes from the time I left the packing for a week at a conference to my ex (aka Dumbo), since he had the Monday off while I had to go to work and then college in the evening. I get up to Blackpool after midnight, only to discover that he hadn't packed most of my clothes. (He'd packed all of his.) I think I had tee shirts and underwear but he'd ignored the items I'd hung on the wardrobe door. I went out the next morning and spent my life's savings on a navy, wool-blend suit at Next. (Trousers, double breasted jacket and two skirts.) Ironically, it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I wore that suit to death over the next 5 years and would love to own another one just like it.

(The trip up to Blackpool was also eventful. I got the last train from Euston, at about 10pm, and was meant to change to the last train from Manchester at midnight, only to get caught up in track repairs that started early at Crew. Two lovely gentlemen, both trainspotters, took charge of me, marched me up to the Station Manager at Manchester Piccadilly and informed him that under section xx of the rail regulations, he had to get me to my destination at BR's expense. They then stayed with me until I was put into a taxi to go all the way to Blackpool.)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

@diminua, this morning I was leaving a shop when I noticed the keys still in the door, so popped back to ask the woman if she knew her bunch of keys was in the door where they could be taken - she was startled and came to get them, saying she was due for leave tomorrow and it showed how much she needed it - so I told her of you and your "St Knickerless" holiday and she said she will put "don't forget knickers!" at the top of her Packing List!
So your woes have helped someone else...
150g of wool to declare - I had the dentist so had to go to Ippikin, and got a nice WYS 4-ply and a new-to-me King Cole 100% 4-ply...
Also, the Co-op had 400g of Spanish strawbs looking and smelling really good, reduced to £1.25, so now I have several pounds of strawbs for making lots of jam this afternoon, usihng jam sugar in an effort to avoid making Strawberry Concrete or Strawberries in Syrup...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Ooohhhhh...... Please can I come and sit in your kitchen? I'm happy to chop and stir. I am imagining the delicious smell. Also, you may need some help with sampling.
