I worked out earlier (because I am a saddo) that if I'd held off and bought all 32.37 litres at 182.9p it would have cost me an extra 20p. So probably not worth my time in this instance, although it's been going up so fast how do you know when you can leave it for a few more days, as it could have increased by 4 or 5p in that time 🤔🤷♀️? I chucked out last month's receipts just now and saw that on 16/05 it was 161.9p - that's a big jump in a month 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

ruby_eskimo said:Everyone has a home library don't they? 🤣 I follow this IG account called Cheap Old Houses that's all about saving old houses in the US and they had a listing for an old library in North Carolina that is like my dream house - it still had all the old built in teak wood bookshelves all over the place 😍
Petrol appears to be going up every 30 minutes so I'm not surprised SC!4 -
I say go for it @killerpeaty 😂
I need to fill up this week and I'm dreading it - probably looking at over £100 for a full tank now so really starting to plan my journeys better and not use the car unless I really have to. Very lucky that I don't have to drive as much for work anymore because the mileage allowance would come no where near to repaying me the cost of fuel.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20173 -
I reckon my petrol spend is now at least 10% of my net pay. For context, my service charge, council tax, electricity, water rates, TV licence, broadband, mobile, landline and £10 into savings for my niece collectively add up to about 15% 😳
(P.S. I promise I will at some point find something more inspiring to talk about than petrol prices 🤣!)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ooh, I should complain about having nothing to say more often - I've just had £5.77 in from Prolific 😀!
I had £6.05 in yesterday as well, so I've transferred £5.00 from each into the petrol fund (now at £15.00 - see, I couldn't go a whole post without mentioning it 🤣), and sent the odd £1.05 and 77p to the ISA so I feel as though I am doing something (anything!) towards The FutureMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I'll join in your petrol chat - well, diesel in my case. Paid 195.9 a litre today, and counted my blessings that it hadn't gone up since I filled the other car up yesterday. Other garage wanted 198.9 😮 Has it gone over £2 a litre anywhere yet? We are very close here now so I imagine it must have!4

Ouch! I think I saw it on the news at 249.9 the other day somewhere in central London, but not sure if it's got that far outside of London yet. Won't be long though!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I cashed in my £15 at the petrol pump on the way home tonight. Up to 184.9p now, used the jazzy buttons on the pump so it dosed me to the correct amount and I couldn't go over budget - not done that since I was unemployed 🤣! I've got an almost-full tank again now, so should be OK until payday on 30/06. The only pot with anything left in it now is groceries, at £11.53, which should be alright I think. I am determined to stay within my means this month!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Have had an extremely stressful day, so have taken advantage of the two cans of cider I was keeping for Friday night - whoops 😳 To try and earn some money to buy wine to replace them, I have done the £4.65 Prolific survey that's been hanging around all day - keep your fingers crossed it gets approved quickly 🤣🤣🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
