Ooh thanks SC, you’ve inspired me - just sent £2 to my LISA! Investing in my S&S ISA requires £100 at a go, which gets tricky sometimes, but I can always manage a couple of quid to my LISA, but I never think of it as I treat it as a pension and it only gets dumped in once a year. I’ll have to remember for the future! (This is why I love this forum 😊)

It’s definitely fun when you are losing more than you are still putting in! I’m just not looking at the moment!

I'm continuing to channel my inner Ed - just had £6.10 in from Prolific, so have put £5.00 in the petrol pot (where it's really needed at the moment 😳) and £1.10 into the ISA. Hopefully one day that will make me rich!

Are you going to rejig your petrol pot? I don't need my car for work usually so I can't just cut down but you must be feeling it.

I did put more in the pot on payday, but I've done quite a lot of driving so far this month. I've emptied the remainder of the personal pot into it (a princely £1.33 🤣), so now have £64.00. I've got a full tank at the moment and will need another before payday, which hopefully should just about take me to the end of the month. Last time I bought a full tank it was £76, so probably more like £80 now 🤷‍♀️? I've been leaning towards filling up little and often lately to try and lock in lower prices before they go up again, but looks like I could do with another £20 or so in the pot before the end of the month.

It should be do-able. Ideas (in order of preference):
    1) £20 of cashback due to go from approved to payable at some point
    2) Prolific, Prolific, Prolific!
    3) Pinch it from the grocery budget, as the last food shop will be after the last fill-up, so allows more time to top it back up with free money coming in
    4) I'm due c£85 in expenses when I get paid, so have the ability to go into minus figures again this month (I much prefer to cover my costs from my monthly cashflow though, so a) I'm not relying on expenses being paid on time, and b) they feel like a "bonus" for me to allocate when they arrive)
    5) I could just take some money out of savings! Think I need to remind myself sometimes that much of my being skinted is entirely of my own doing, but I do always see transfers to savings as one-way traffic (until its allotted purpose comes round)

Hopefully the increased amount I'm allocating each month will be enough going forward, this month and last month have both just had more driving than usual, so fingers crossed I will be OK going forward 🤞

On the cost of fuel, I was wondering the other day how long it will be before we see reports on the news of spates of thefts from cars as people get more desperate 🙁 Keeping it filled up to lock in the prices makes financial sense, but it does make a car a bit of a sitting duck. I think I should be fine, as I'm usually only in a residents' car park, work car park or on BF's drive if I'm parked for any length of time, but it's one of those random thoughts that popped into my head when I should probably have been thinking about something else!
