Just updated my new LISA interest rate on my spreadsheet. It's dropped by 14p/day - that's £51.10 a year, people 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
I'm literally ignoring the cuts in interest rates just for this reason - I'd end up depressing myself too much, even if I don't have A LOT of savings 😆Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20173

I do have a lot of savings, but most of it is set aside either to pay credit cards (sadly far outweighed by the balances owing 😬) or for "the other thing". The LISA however is just for me!
I guess that should make me more motivated to chase the extra £50s, as the drop is only the equivalent of one 🤔 I did have a look at bank switching again earlier, but there looks to be only one deal on at the moment - ONE 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hey SC - hope you don't me dropping in. Do you still partake in ZipZero? (I think it was you I had seen mention it before) If yes, just wondered have you had a cash out lately?

Hello! You can drop in any time, visitors always welcome 😀
Yes, it's me that's been talking about ZipZero previously, and no, I've not had a payment from them for some time. The below is the last update I had from them (which was in reply to my email saying they had told me payments requested in May would be paid in July, but it was August and I still hadn't had my May payment):
They've had payment issues in the past and come good, so I'm keeping the faith for now - although I will reply now and say it's now mid-September and still no May payment. Will post with an update on their response!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Thank you. Yes it's a payment from May that I am waiting on too. I didn't notice til July and forgot again til recently. I've decided to not bother scanning any more receipts and will let anything pending move over...and hope they get funds moving again 🤞2

I've got over £75 in pending requested payments currently with ZZ and a further £50 pending. I'm still scanning.. They don't have a very good business model, it would seem, but I'm trying to be positive.
Latest update I had from them was that payment was hopefully mid Sept - but that it could be delayed further. I don't like that they haven't gone out to everyone with an update, only if you contact them. There's no update in their site (unless in the past few days) and the community forum pages have disappeared and they don't answer queries about thisI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203 -
I'm still scanning, too. I figure I've got my phone and the receipts out anyway for the other apps I do, so only takes me 2 minutes to carry on and do them as well. I carried on right through their previous issues a few years ago (where they were very proactive in sending out emails to members, so definitely different to now), and they did clear the backlog in the end. I've got a much smaller household than greent, so I've only got £28 requested and £38 pending, but would definitely come in handy! Even if this is the end for them, I don't feel as though I can complain too much, as it is really money for nothing and I've had just over £300 from them over the yearsMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
