Sounds like the morning after the night before to me 🤣!julicorn said:
"The ONS also revealed the five grocery items most likely to be in the average shopping basket - a two-pint carton of semi-skimmed milk, a pack of sliced ham, a box of breakfast cereal, some bacon and a bar of milk chocolate."
Sounds like a party!

In other fun facts, tonight's episode of A Touch Of Frost is brought to you by Kate the pathologist from Midsomer Murders, Damian Lewis and Laurel from Emmerdale 😀

(There's also a man who was one of the victims in the "A Tale of Two Hamlets" episode of Midsomer Murders, but I thought that might have been a bit too obscure 🤣!)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Was feeling sad that I've not put anything into the ISA since October, so have just nicked £100 out of the LISA/EF savings and paid it in 😀 Feel better now!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

@South_coast - may I ask why you use a LISA? You're a homeowner already and you will (hopefully) be able to access your pension earlier5

LOL 🤣
Yes, a few reasons really, but mainly:
a) It's tax free at the point of withdrawal, so won't count towards my personal allowance; and
b) It's a good proportion of the cash element of the plan, and I can't think of another way of getting a 25% uplift on cash
Glad to see my reasons are consistent (I continued waffling over the page) 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It's not a bad choice if you want to use it as part of your retirement plan and you already maxed out your workplace pension match. That's partly why I have a LISA.

Those are the same reasons I have a LISA, plus I can access it from 60 when I can't get any of my other pensions (work or state) till I'm 68, and I really don't want to be working at that age.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20174
