Getting FIREd up 😀

I can't take too much credit for the extra £50s, as most of it did come from the holiday pot, but boy does it feel good to get the big bill pot filled (12 months before I need it 🤣 but next year really is all about the refurb). And yes, I think the insurance refund did have about £15 taken off from memory for admin, but still a bit pants!
Ruby, yes next year is the year of the refurb 👍👍👍 I'll have been here 8 years by then, with a lot of things steadily getting worse, so it's definitely time! Still, the heating works and I have had new windows put in, so I have a lot to be grateful for 🥰Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

15 x £50 cashbacks wow - Queen of MFW right here
I do pay tax on my interest due to my house deposit - I have to file anyway but this year it will hurt! luckily I will be BR or it will hurt even more
So I understand steps to avoid it..I mean you earn the money in the first place and then they tax you on your earnings on it!!
I work with some uber wealthy people though and they use all these tax avoidance schemes, off shore, trust, charitable donations to help their tax returns etc and so its the middle class that ends up paying for the NHS etc - ...dont get me started.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

This morning looks to be the perfect opportunity to break out the running gloves I bought at the end of last winter and haven't had a chance to use yet 😳

@South_coast - good idea! I was kicked out of bed by DD2 at 4 only to discover that we have a winter wonderland outside

Ooh, a winter wonderland sounds fun 😀! We just had a few patches of ice (now melting in the sun), but it was VERY cold (went down to -4 by the time I went out - can't remember it ever being that cold here before 😮). The running gloves rose to the challenge though, just could have done with a balaclava as well 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Some fool in Lidl left their £96.85 receipt in their trolley - that's a much better amount for this week's 1% ZipZero than my £16.88 would have been 😀! I was so focused on snaffling it that I had to go back to retrieve my £1 😅!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
