    I know, 2 1/2 years nearly - doesn't feel like I've achieved very much since 😮!
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!
  • Paying the mortgage off is a massive memorable milestone SC, but you have absolutely achieved loads since. You're on the way to financial independence, you haven't gone off the rails, you are working towards "the big thing", you are making lots of extra earning efforts along the way (putting the likes of me to shame). Ticking a big item off the to do list isn't the only kind of achievement, continually  staying the course and working toward the next one is an achievement in itself!

I feel exactly the same  so I booked a big trip to save for!

Awwww, thanks SSS - you're making me blush 😊!

    So, on that note....

    First of the month round-up….

    • 8x extra £50s this month*, coming from TopCashBack, bank account cashback, receipt scanning, some Tilly tidies, surveys, Vypr, Ziffit, a BIG chunk of interest from one of my ISAs and £50 for harvesting and sending away various er, samples from myself 😅! Used two to finish off the money transfer fee on the credit card, converted the voucher for the samples to a Sainsbury's gift card, and put the rest towards the big bill pot

    • Used Ed's recommended wheeze of buying a supermarket gift card on a day when there was a £2 bonus from TopCashBack. All went well, until I impulse bought a bottle of port from a display by the checkout, meaning I had to top up my spending with actual money 🤦‍♀️🤣!

    11.61 years to go….

As predicted, everything that's in the stock market has dropped back. The current pension and the S&S ISA are up a smidge due to new contributions going in, but not as much as I've put in. Oh well, KP has assured me November will be better 🤣!

    * Would have been more if I hadn't spent an insane amount on a fancy meal out - no regrets though!

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks, EG 😀! Must admit I was giggling as I collected them! It wasn't mandatory to provide the full set, but decided "In for a penny...." 🤣
