Are there any expenses that will no longer need to be covered like union membership, professional fees or Income protecting insurances?  :)

What's a union 🤣??? No, nothing like that, outgoings are already pretty slender, so increasing income would be the only obvious route. That said, 12 years is fine as it's the timeline I had in mind and I need 11 more years of NI for a full state pension. It would be nice to be able to step back to a different type of job for the final run-in though, not sure my brain can handle the idea of doing the same thing for another 12 years, so that would be a very nice carrot to dangle!

I meant in terms of you potentially forgetting to trim stuff from your retired budget, leading to this being higher than needed👍

Ahhhh.... No, I think it's probably about right. Petrol and car insurance should go way down (no need for commuting and business use), but personal spends should go up, as I'll have more time to spend them! I don't buy lunch, and I don't spend a huge amount on work clothes, so it's really the car that's the main financial cost of working

Speaking of jammy, I renewed my broadband contract the other day with the same provider for £2.45 less per month than I'm paying now - is that normal??? I was expecting to have to go through lots of switching rigmarole, but they emailed me to say it was ending at the end of next month and to check their latest deals. I clicked through, what they were offering was cheaper, so I thought "Er, yeah, OK" and signed on the dotted line!

Still keep thinking I've b*ggered it up somehow 🤷‍♀️?!

As far as I'm concerned it is normal. That usually happens with our broadband provider, Plusnet. It was the same the last time we renewed the in-law's broadband.
