1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Back to Thursday. We left the house at 1:30 p.m., walked to DLR station (I posted birthday cards etc) Straight onto a train, out the other end at Monument station & then a long walk (for us 😉) to Leadenhall Street. Arrived at the venue with plenty of time to spare. Lurked around outside for about 15 mins & then checked in. DH had treated us to the VIP Package so we received various tickets as well as our wrist bands & a locker key for bags & coats. The bar/restaurant area was decked out with large steam pipes & the head of a Martian machine with various pictures hanging on the walls of newspaper headlines etc - very atmospheric especially when steam (smoke) released against coloured lights indicating when each group was setting off & the music started - Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds soundtrack. Our group was 12 people & off we set. I won’t spoil it for anyone just to say that the VIP experience was a mixture of live action actors, projection work, moving through various ‘scenarios’, very effective sound effects & wearing VR helmets. Our very first experience of VR & the 3 of us now understand why it is so popular 🥳 So lifelike & sometimes very disconcerting 😬 We all survived 🥳The meal we selected was burger & fries with a beer each for DH & me & a coke for DSis. We also have our memorabilia - a couple of photos, a couple of lined notebooks one each for me & DSis (cover has a War of the Worlds logo) & 2 fridge magnets. Walked about half a mile to a bus stop & returned home by bus. Got in at 7:00 p.m. having had an absolutely wonderful time. Made even better by the fact that the weather stayed dry until 9:00 p.m. 🙂 Paid milkman before I went to bed.
Friday has been a dry day. DSis went out to pick up her missing meds & do a bit of shopping. DH filled the bird feeders & I finished beanie no.6 & am halfway through knitting beanie no.7. Tonight we had the third of our Hel*o Fre*h meals. DH did most of the prep with just a little input from me 😉 - chicken parmigiana, chive mash & garlic green beans. My favourite due to being very tomatoey but not for DH & DSis 🙁 - both ranked it as their least favourite 😭 Due to me falling asleep on the sofa, DH did most of the washing up 👏 I will finish before I go to bed.

Sorry to hear that you have been unwell grandmanerd 🤒 & lovely to see you back 🙂 Regardless of being unwell you have managed a great deal of decluttering & completion of various tasks 👏 I am in full agreement with daisy_1571 - we all have differing views of what our homes will look like when we have finished decluttering & she is perfectly correct that you have no need to feel guilty about treating yourself to a ‘want’ especially as it was not a spur of the moment decision 😊 Mr Fox sounds delightful & if he makes you smile every day then he is worth his weight in gold 🙂
What an absolutely superlative post, daisy_1571 👏 I especially like the last 2 sentences “To me that sounds EXACTLY why you are on this journey. Not every 'want' is tainted or 'bad', we are all allowed to go beyond 'needs' as long as its not consistently depriving the real needs of your life” One medal 🏅coming your way for such an insightful & thoughtful post 😊
Great work roundtuit 👏
Excellent work grandmanerd - especially binning potentially harmful items like lipsticks & eye drops 👏Mr Builder sounds like a good tradesman & although sorting out the wall & gate is going to cost a bit more - you deserve to have something beautiful rather than easy wagging finger emoji. Yippee for DS3 - volunteering for work earns him a few brownie points 😉 especially if it saves you money 😉
Sorry to hear that a combination of the awful weather & the door incident are conspiring to make life seem a struggle EnergyShifter 🙁 Grumble away - like you I can afford to pay for the heating but not a fan of how stuffy it makes the house feel. However I have succumbed today as the downstairs was surprisingly cold for a south facing room & I am already wearing 2 jumpers & a T-shirt 😔 Fingers crossed that DS comes up with some ideas for a City break & that he can assist in the organisation 🤞
Great work Natty68 👏 - two black sacks of rubbish & the broken up dresser is a decent amount of clutter gone 👏
Excellent work short_bird 👏
A day a week leave is a great idea TC77 🙂 All that extra time for decluttering 😂 Perhaps you can do like with like on each floor - then you can see if anything needs thinning out 🤔 Great work decluttering & dealing with tasks 👏
How exciting florianatwobob - electricity in the shed 🥳 A bolt hole to run to 🥲 Hope you have a lovely time in Newcastle 😊
Of course you deserve your Gold Stars ruby_eskimo - you reached your target 👏 Excellent work re C…. presents wrapping & well done on doing your cleaning a bit at a time 👏 Hope you have a lovely weekend with your friend 😊
So pleased that I have made you smile roundtuit 😊 Definitely agree that often a sideways move is progress - aka advance planning 👏 Excellent decluttering & yes I am still with you - you are taking another TARDIS 👏 Nothing wrong with inconsistent & haphazard decluttering, as you say all the dots will join up eventually 🙂
bit_by_bit, sounds like you had a good time with your friends 🙂 You have been busy 👏 Hope the rain stays away so you get to the allotment 🤞& good luck with your small jobs 🍀
Not a rant short_bird, just some very useful information about how NOT to store records👏
More excellent decluttering roundtuit 👏 are you sure you don’t have time to come round to my place just to give me a kick up the backside 😂 Wow so many books leaving your home 👏 How curious - the mystery of the damp book🧐 What a lovely find - exam certificates & a CV 😊 Hope you read the CV & reference 😉
Excellent decluttering Fizz2015 - definitely on a roll 👏 Please try to keep your purse/wallet firmly closed unless something really catches your eye 🙂
Nothing glacial about your decluttering short_bird - 41 items out 👏
Yippee to finding your diary TC77 🥳 Everything crossed that the important piece of paper comes out of hiding quickly 🤞

985. Stopper for long-gone water bottle
Bought some cheap curtain panels & a pole from B&M yesterday to put across the doorway from dining room / kitchen. Put up the colourful rope lights in the dining room that go up every winter. Looks & feels much cosier.

Your event sounded like fun Mrs SD
Siebre what an absolutely beautiful dolls house
Round-to-it - sounds like you've found the right approach to your decluttering for yourself at this stage and you are clearly really motivated so just keep doing what you're doing.
TC77 - glad you are feeling more motivated today

Morning all xx
EnergyShifter - thank you. It's all a bit random at the moment but it all needs doing so 🤷♀️. Inner critic wants methodical decluttering but inner critic is never satisfied anyway so I'm taping it's mouth shut! 😊
While waiting for the kettle to boil and the bread to toast I decided to take out everything from a drawer in the TARDIS aka wall unit....I'm no longer convinced that it is a normal piece of furniture. It's definitely the gift that keeps on giving 🤣
I'm supposed to be going up to get dressed but I'm going to make a start on the drawer's contents first:
DS's first karting overalls - DS (he's already said that he wants them)
.....
Nothing is going back into the drawer 😊
Year 7 school books - DS
Loose homework sheets etc - recycled
Compass - keep
Geometry set - keep
But they're going with the other stationery in the cupboard
And there's a set square in the kitchen drawer which is now surplus to requirements...so it can go to cs.
Right. Dressed. Hmmm. Yes

Had a good day yesterday. Had a great time at the allotment and also did some small jobs. Planted 100 onions at the plot after weeding a section. Garlic planted before holiday definitely loving their spot. More to go in.
Got a sample pot with virtually the same shade of paint to touch up FiL bedroom. Not cheap at nearly £3.00 but much cheaper than having it mixed for us or buying a big tin. Also spent a tenner on very reduced plants.
Bought wool from the CS to finish a blanket and bumped into an old friend behind the counter. He worked at mine with me for a while but didn't like the new manager. I don't either but I am not there to like people.
Damp dusted FiL bedroom. He has lots of dustgatherers and bookshelves. He also has a chest condition. neither clean and the dust was very very deep in some places. He and MiL are away on a cruise for 3 weeks in January and he has agreed to have most of the shelves moved out into the spare room, to make a library. We are also stripping out MiL bedroom, decorating and reorganising. Her room was always meant to be a bedroom when the time came but was and is also used as a computer room.
Today I tidied round the side of the house and sorted some pots out . CS this afternoon. Bought some next age baby clothes for growing grandbabies but already sent smaller stuff to CS in a bag today.
@M@Mrs_Salad_Dodger That trip sounds fantastic and DH and I will be going. We wanted to go to the concert but is was so expensive. This sounds much more up our street.
