That’s the plan I think @QueenJess, ideally (and I know this would be a really lucky find) I’d like one that can survive low temperatures as it can then go and live in the shed. We were planning on having an extra freezer out there anyway eventually, this has just expedited the need.I’m now wondering if, with climate change, we should also be developing/considering fridge freezers that can cope better with higher temperatures too.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Heya hugs to those who need them - I hope everyone is okay
I started my new job yesterday, it's 4 weeks training period and my group seems really nice so far
and although it's a bit of a headachey job to start with, I'm sure I'll pick it up in no time.
Did a bit of decluttering whilst I was setting up my new company's equipment.
Hopefully will be getting rid of some more stuff when I get some time.
114. Heat pad
115. Cloths
116. Broken litter picker
117. Empty pen
118. Old notes from the old job
119. Emptied draws of my desk, some random things are thrown out like cough sweets
120. 2 flat batteries from my handheld milk frother
121. Hairbands
122. Alice band
123. Old period pads
124. Old suncream
125. Random wrappers & empty med packets
126. A plant by the pond and half of a spikey plant
🗑️Mission Declutter & Clean 2022🧼 - 105 Items
Onto building a life I love x8 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedMonday was another lovely sunny day & I was very lazy & did nothing but watch TV 😔😔 Three more series caught up with: 9-1-1 Lone Star, Law & Order:SVU & SurrealEstate. However DH was a busy bee - working in the garden: he finished trimming the back garden hedge & also pruned ndn’s tree to stop it damaging our shed roof + tidied up various pot plants getting rid of dead foliage & weeds. He then shredded most of the clippings including from the front hedge & raked the garden. Tuesday is hot, hot, hot 🥵 DH has finished the shredding & filled both compost bins + moved the the 2nd wormery to a shadier spot. Lastly he has staked the sunflower which has one large flower + 7 more ‘heads’ 🤩 He has also strimmed the garden of the rented house next door 😉Monday night’s dinner was fish’n’chips. I still haven’t got into the swing of things since our holiday 😔
1193 - 1197 Kitchen recycling, glass bottle, 3 glass jars - recycled
1198 - 1200 Kitchen & garden detritus disposed ofSo sorry to hear that 2 of your offspring are suffering, Wildrose ☹️ Sending hugs all round. Excellent decluttering of the ‘Wardrobe of Everything’ 👏 What a nice reputation to have at the CS 🙂
Huge hugs Siebrie 🤗 Sorry to hear that you are feeling overwhelmed and thank you for being brave & sharing 👏 I do think it helps to write down our feelings as we can then start to see a way forward. Wish I could do more than send ‘virtual’ support.Lovely supportive posts ZsaZsa, Crazycatlady2 & florianatwobob 😊

Well I had thought I was done for today, but DS insisted we did more sorting out 😂. He says he loves spring cleaning and tidying! I guess I must have made it very stress free. Our recycling bin is now overflowing 😬
So extra decluttering for today from one of the craft drawers mainly and the odd other thing I came across whilst tidying a bit:
3364 - pack of pens
3365-3420 - paper (colouring etc)
3421 - pack of stamps
3422-23 - packaging
3424-26 - books
3427-33 - baby clothes
3434-38 - rocks
3439-3531 - old greetings cards
Will try and list some more stuff on the local free site later and sort some more books into piles. I really want to purge some of DD’s clothes as she has too many, but it seems silly to do that when we will get rid of them in a month or two anyway. So I am holding off on that one and will try to be selective on the pile of clothes I have waiting for the next age up.2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Amazing sunflower. I have some seeds I didn't get to plant so hoping they'll last to next year.
A piece of foam - meant for upholstering but about 20 years old so starting to go and I think they must have upgraded fire safety since then.
DIY man mended gate, adjusted cupboard and touched up french doors, so hopefully I can out curtains back up (v large and duvet like so good to get them up) and put curtain rail up - so other curtains can go up but have to decide if I want the windows painted... all adds up.
Little decluttering done , expired fly spray.
Waiting for french doors to dry after work so hoping I can get some frogs eaten9 -
Blimey @vulpix; you have had it rough. Hope things are onlly going to get better from now on.
Wow. Rockin' on @mhagster
Big hugs @Wildrose. I hope things improve for you all soon.
Today has been spent tidying the allotment and planting seeds. Up at 7am to avoid the heat but worth it. I have sown the seeds then covered them so they don't dry out with the sun. I haven't been as good on the allotment as I had hoped this year so am ploughing on preparing for winter food. 9wrod to self, don't go on holiday for most of the summer).
Also in the garden catching up with potting on. Picked up 6 very large plant pots, a water butt and a compost bin for free today. I know, not very decluttering but very MSE. Pleased to pick some toms and harvest a few spuds and courgettes from the plot.
In between times I have finished DD washing and folded it in piles including all the stuff from her drawers for her to decide what she wants to keep. Sorted kitchen stuff and when she is back from the shops we will be packing up her computers (work and play) As a games tester she has all the gadgets.
Note to the overwhelmed. Big big hugs. RL always slows us down so don't kick yourselves while you are down; just do a bit and rest a bit. Even one thing out, put away is an achievement some days. Dsis came today so kitchen nearly finished (just need a new blind and clean a few more things before putting away) and only one small cupboard to do in bedroom which I can manage on my own. Things have been put in the shed to either be laundered or to await a decision. Only 4 things put back in top cupboard in bedroom so far and there will be less than 10 more once decisions have been made. Am v pleased with that.
Our local National Trust property were very pleased to have the several boxes of books Dsis dropped off on her way home today. Apparently they are running out of stock. OH and I both have more to go through so we can take those next week.
So, friend hopefully coming tomorrow to fetch some things down from the loft and that plus books plus items put in shed today will give me enough to work on over the next fortnight. Will need to stay indoors over the weekend to keep as cool as possible during the hotter weather so will be shredding old accounts etc rather than doing more physical work. The shed stuff can be sorted when cooler weather arrives.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅8 -
Hello
Short shift worked at second job ( 3 to go )
Round to mums and filled my wee car . This is the final tip run from the house. What an achievement! There will be more from garden waste but to actually have almost emptied a house that was spilling over with stuff. There’s a small filing cabinet I’m going to paint and use as a bedside cabinet in spare room so it can stay at mums just now. There are 2 jars of pebbles ( go figure!) but mum would bring them back from her travels from all over the world. So once I’ve cleared a bit more space in the garden I’ll put them there and recycle the jars.Council collection for furniture booked. It can take up to a week for this to happen.Rubbish to tip, metal recycling, plastic recycling, more blooming small electrical recycling and I said to the chap that’s taken me 10 weeks today to clear a house…but I’ve still a jungle to tame so I’ll be back!Back round this evening. It was really too hot this afternoon to do anything so I didn’t 😆
Powerwashed 9 squares but hose kept jumping off so I said if it did it again I’d stop. It did. I took as a sign to stop! Then filled 7 bags of garden waste. Cut the buddleia right down and brought the remaining purple flowers home. It’s been magnificent. Then was starting to get bitten by midges so stopped.I can see a difference in the garden from what it was like. Anyone else would probably think lord it’s a jungle but it’s less of a jungle than it was.Quick chat to NDN and cut her some roses.Just going to have a shower as I’m manky from power washing and have my tea!9 -
Phew. Hello chums.I have spent the day wrangling to get Mum out of hospital. She was losing all hope and that just isn’t her. Been to her house and brought a bed down and set it up in the dining room. I have not been upstairs at my Mum’s for years. A big sort out needed. I will be staying at hers for a while so will have time to sort it. I have told DS to come and collect his belongings which he stored there when he went to work in Canada about 6 years ago. He has his own house now so he is coming next week to collect hundreds of books. I also have stuff in one of the rooms. I was going to do a car boot sale but it all just seems too much at the moment. We have given our notice at work. If you were going to come and visit me, you better do it before the end of the month. The builder became a Dad today so work is taking a back seat.Out a vase to DD2
More paint used up on garden trellis.Love to all Vx:8 -

bit_by_bit, you must be rested & relaxed after your holiday in Devon with your girlfriends 🙂 & then time spent with family. I love that you & DH spent lots of time chatting/discussing & now have an extensive list of projects etc 😉 Excellent news on sales 👏 I imagine you are a bit sad to see DD moving to Manchester 😢 but at least she is taking lots of clutter 😂😉Oh dear vulpix 😔 “Door of TLC carriage bursts open and in staggers Vulpix carrying many carrier bags. Vulpix collapses into the nearest vacant seat, closes eyes, drops multiple bags containing worry, stress, responsibility, illness, insomnia and over eating to the floor.” Reading that I was reminded of books that go straight into their story with no preamble & hook your interest immediately 😉 I hope one of the waiters came over & took your order - sounds like a stiff drink or three was needed. Sorry that RL is so tough with so much going on & add to that you are still recovering from norovirus 😔 Hope the builders get everything done that is scheduled & then leave you in peace for a while - to recover some equilibrium 🤞
Lovely post TC77 😊 I had forgotten about the “TLC's special vacuum system to dispose of the bags of worry and stress deposited there” 🙂Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday weenancy 🥳🎂 Your walker sounds ideal for long walks - I seem to remember that Disneyland is huge 😬 Sorry to hear that your roommates are still not being as helpful as they should be, weenancy 😖 You have a lot on your plate 😔 but taking it a day at a time & doing what you can do will make a difference 👏 Just remember to pop into the TLC Carriage & use the ‘special vacuum system’ 😉Wow QueenJess - excellent decluttering work with DS 👏 What a great Tip on how to engage a child in decluttering - I think I will try that with my T-shirts & tops - I have way too many & I know there are some I will never wear 😔 I am exceedingly impressed with the numbers of items disposed of 👏 There is one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way to you + one Gold Star ⭐️ for your DS 🙂Good luck with your visit to the Room of Doom 🍀
Well done to both you & your husband 2Scratters 👏 especially dealing with question papers BEFORE they turned into a frog 👏 I have been using my washing up water to give plants a drink 😉Excellent work mhagster 👏 & how nice to have some assistance with the ‘big stuff’ 🙂 Hopefully friend will turn into boyfriend 🤞😉 How nice that 5 minutes turned into 90 minutes - time to relax & reminisce 😊EnergyShifter thanks for the hugs 👏
Wildrose, you are definitely under the cosh ☹️ Sending hugs your way. So very sorry to hear about DS & especially getting Covid to make his situation even more difficult 😞 Sometimes a sugar binge is the only way to deal with a ‘stress hangover’ 🙂 Well done on the decluttering 👏 & good luck with wardrobe 🍀Lovely supportive posts EnergyShifter & Deni_debt-free_dreamer 😊 Deni - I did read your post as selling non vintage offspring 😂
Brilliant decluttering QueenJess 👏 I really think you are being way too hard on yourself ‘wagging finger emoji’ the clutter is ‘not your fault’ 😥 Also sounds like you only found two useful ideas ‘decluttering is a journey not a destination’ & ‘layers of decluttering’ I think several of our fellow declutterers will come up with suggestions as to the most useful/relevant/entertaining online information 🤞 Must admit to occasionally starting to read something online & getting annoyed when they waffle on 😉Sorry to hear you are feeling overwhelmed florianatwobob ☹️ The TLC Carriage is ready & waiting - recently restocked with tea, coffee, alcohol, snacks & hm goodies + an extra massage chair is now available 🙂 Forgot to mention that we added another carriage to The EDT - a sleeper carriage for those times when only lying down in a darkened room will do 🙂 You will need to rest & relax before all the repair men descend on you 😉 I currently have the opposite problem with my fridge - it is freezing everything 🤔 - probably too full 😔Great idea QueenJess 👏
Good luck with the freezer hunting florianatwobob 🍀
Good luck with the new job accidentalglixch 🍀 & great decluttering 👏
You have the bit between your teeth now QueenJess 👏 & I am in awe at your successful training of your DS 🙂👏TC77, we are very lucky with our sunflower - we get one a year compliments of the birds but this is the first year we have had more than one flower 🙂 Yippee to DIY man 👏 As long as the curtains are back up before the weather changes 😉 after all duvet type curtains will keep the heat in & the cold out 🙂 Good luck with the frog eating 🍀
Excellent work on the allotment bit_by_bit 👏 Don’t beat yourself up about the holidays - rest & relaxation help to set you up for a burst of decluttering action 😉 Lovely comment “ Note to the overwhelmed. Big big hugs. RL always slows us down so don't kick yourselves while you are down; just do a bit and rest a bit. Even one thing out, put away is an achievement some days. Lessons learnt the hard way hence the nom de plume” & just to add to that Be Kind to Yourselves 🙂Excellent decluttering oceanspirit, always easier when you have someone else helping 👏 Good plan for the hot weekend & shredding is so therapeutic 🙂
Brilliant, terrific, outstanding decluttering mhagster 👏 An overflowing house emptied in 10 weeks 🤩 Perhaps before & after photos for the garden 🙏 What a wonderful memento - pebbles from around the world 🙂 and once they are in your garden they will bring back happy memories of your dear mum 😊 Surely not a jungle but a wildlife habitat 😉
vulpix, just what you don’t need - wrangling to get your mum out of hospital 😔 Wishing you every success & hopefully when she is home she will start to recover properly 🤞 - she is probably looking forward to a decent cup of tea 😉 I imagine you are sad to be leaving work but it is time to think of yourselves - do try to give yourself some TLC 🙏Waved DH off 20 minutes ago - he is heading in the general direction of the Lake District.Hugs to all.MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
