2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

While digging out my old Nintendo Wii games consoles from an old packing box, I came across some really old video games for the PS1 and 2, plus some PC games and DVD films, all of them in good nick, but I will never play/watch them again. Therefore I've put them to one side with the intention of either uploading them to eBay, or perhaps the local charity shop tomorrow.
In another packing box I found some cutlery, plates, cups and mugs, which again I don't think I will ever use again. So they too will end up in the CS.
And finally I have sorted out a million billion Cat5/5e cables, ethernet cables, display port cables, and good old VGA cables. No longer needed, so again they will probably end up at the CS as I can't be bothered itemising them online for sale.
So that's a bit more space created, with more to come in the next few days. I love a good spring clean

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Towels mix of guest towels, bath towels & bath sheets and swimming towels. No decluttering today apart from found £20 outside amusements arcade on very busy high street in city. As i had helped someone out all day and provided support driving 60 miles paid £10 parking and £16 drink I like to think it was good karma21k savings no debt10

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedThursday was a dry but mostly dull day ☹️ Excellent start to the day - the recycling wheelie bin was emptied on the correct day 👏 DH’s rash is gradually drying out & scabbing over & now the stabbing pain is restricted to just one finger 😣 I did finish dealing with the Brexit cupboard & spice/condiment cupboard - contents listed + cleaned both cupboard fronts & one other cupboard front. Also watered rhubarb & blackberry plants & did 10 mins of weeding. Dealt with yesterdays post. Today’s post was lovely - a £25 cheque from Ernie + a wedding invitation from France 🙂 Dinner was salmon fillets, boiled potatoes, carrots & peas 😋 Wudupa. Something I forgot yesterday - our Od*box arrived before midnight & the quantity was rather disappointing 😔 - 6 small red beetroot, 5 potatoes, 3 sweet potatoes, a small bunch of spring onions, a large mooli radish, 2 leeks, 10 small carrots & the smallest cabbage I have ever seen 😔620 - 623 Kitchen recycling, newspaper, small glass bottle - recycled
624 Kitchen detritus binnedTC77, I forgot beach towels & swimming towels 😔 That means one person could have 6 towels + a flannel 😱 Sorry to hear DD1 has Covid 😞 Everything crossed that you stay negative 🤞
ZolaBuddy, very MSE cancelling all those streaming services 👏 I love Board games but DH doesn’t so I am very jealous of you & your partner 😉 I take it you won 🤣basketcase, are you sure you don’t have any more tin openers lurking 😉😉
You have been busy Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏 Four jobs 😓 😬 I am surprised you have any energy left for decluttering 😉 What a lucky find 🙂 are you sure you haven’t got a few more purses 😉
I was exhausted reading about all the work you have done mothernerd - well done on getting so much done 👏 You appear to have found a way to get through the times when you are feeling stuck - I have read a bit of A Slob Comes Clean but have never heard of the Clutter Fairy or Clutter Clarity - I will have to investigate 🙂 Although from what you have written they both sound very interesting & useful 🙂
Deni_debt-free_dreamer - I think the idea of touching your post only once & dealing with it can probably be applied to all decluttering 🤞What a lovely idea re the mini jars for 5p coins. I also like the idea of a square vase 🙂
ZolaBuddy, I would definitely put them on bay of e - I think there is a market for old games 🤞 Re the cables perhaps sell as a job lot 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏
otb666 what a great stroke of fortune 🙂 Absolutely good karma as totally unlooked for 🙂 apologies for the bad grammar 😉Sorry to hear that life is bringing you down EnergyShifter 😞 What a lovely doctor 👏
TC77, hopefully your DD will have a mild case of Covid & will recover quickly. Hope you enjoy your painting 🤞

Happy Easter everyone.
DS back from Uni but has headed off with OH this morning to an away football game. DD busy with a day of studying as her A-levels approach. So I have a day of pottering (quietly so as not to disturb the studying) and hopefully getting some jobs done!
Yesterday I did apply myself and got 3 loads of laundry done and put away and cleaned the bathroom which was grotty! Black wheelie bin was emptied by Council, I was glad as it was unusually full (with cardboard used on veg patch over winter that too wet/dirty to recycle), so I then had room to empty kitchen and bathroom bins and, more importantly, my vacuum cleaner. So, decluttering of sorts!
It looks like it is going to be a warm, sunny dayso best have my breakfast, get washed and dressed and get started. I might treat myself to trip to garden centre later, the deal being that I have a place in mind for any plants purchased and that they must be put into garden over the Easter weekend.

Thankyou @weenancyinAmerica My CS had a box for 'recycling' but the new manager is chucking left right and centre. I know a lot of the stuff she throws could be sold elsewhere. She is definitely not going to be putting it outside for free though.
Re the maintenance stage. It took years but most of my downstairs is good enough for maintenance. There is more to go but a quck tidy and vacuum and the place is good enough for visitors.
Welcome @ZolaBuddyIt looks like you have already done a lot. Best wishes for your minimalist aims.
Welcome back @basketcase. Fantsastic news for DD and the plants. Remeber to do one thing and stop. Eat the elephant rather than let it trample you.
Welcome @allmannerofthings. There is hope don't worry. One box at a time.....
I have been away to visit family for a few days. I had some unexpected me time as plans changed. I needed it and enjoyed it. DS was 50 and what was going to be a family gathering ended up being 4 of us at a fish and chip restarunt. DS was happy anyway.
Go DiL 1 and 3 coming with repsective babies for luch today.Going to make it like afternoon tea in the garden. Lots to chat about so good. Also MiL 'popping' in as there has been a bit if difficulty between her and DiL 1 (since my difficulty last year) so now trying to break the ice.
Right. Got some tidying and prep to do so catch up over the weekend.

Today i have sorted through 2 tubs of paperwork - most recycled or shredded.
The 5p jars are a great idea - I've filled up 2 so far.
I can see quite a bit of bedroom carpet now

We have returned from ‘The North’ having decluttered money and shoe leather. The weather was glorious, a bit of rain on Tuesday but we were mostly inside with some rejigging of our plans.Washing has been done and it’s on the line, beds have been stripped. Once the washing is dry some bits need to go back in the suitcases and they will then be put away. Now the holiday calories will need to be decluttered! Mostly accrued at Betty’s in York 😉✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hello all, hope everyone is well, many hugs if not. Sorry I can't remember when I last posted as not much has left the building to write, about only daily detritus. I have been reading along but sadly can't remember anything anyone has said/done 😕
Yesterday I got rid of a huge millstone frog and the builder has finally finished the job which has been ongoing since the end of Oct. He's done a fabulous job even though unfortunately it was marred by illness/ hols on both sides and weather problems. He has taken away all his paraphernalia from outside the patio doors too so no longer do I look out upon 2 wheelbarrows, a cement mixer and a traffic cone etc. 😂 We've also decluttered from our bank account the last of the money owed to him 😥. Now we have to start saving up the pennies to have the next big job started. ( I couldn't possibly face living in a builders yard nor any more mess for a while though )
Today DH dug out some soil and I then barrowed about 10 loads of it from the back garden to the front, just to fill in the gap left between the new walls and the garden. ( The garden needs levelling now as it used to slope from the house to the front wall and from side to side ) I filled 2 green waste bins with tree cuttings and weeds then I decided to sort out my gardening shed. Out went an empty weed killer bottle and I cut up the leftover caravan cover, which should have been done before but it got buried and forgotten. Now 2 full black bags of cut up cover are awaiting disposal and I have a tidy shed again 👏.
MrsSD Hope DH's finger pain clears up soon. My DH looks like he has panda eyes and the pharmacist seems to think it may be an allergy. Wouldn't listen to me though when I told him that over a week or more ago 🤨
Keep up the good work everyone.
