stellata said:Thanks to those who clarified the like with like idea, I'm going to give that a go as I have a weird shaped house so I have more than one location for most things otherwise I spend a lot of time going up and downstairs. That might do me good though so I'll try some like with like tomorrow. Feel a bit rubbish tonight, need to sleep but too jittery.

Bala.. birthday best wishes and hugs x
agree about the fantasy me....gosh how fab and multi-talented I was!
Daisy and stellata agree about having some things doubled up on floors, and its about working for you, I did read something that for ADD people which I think I probably am its about getting systems to work for you, and the style being second.
Is the book referred to the decluttering at speed? is there another book.
Have tried to keep up but big frog appeared and have to provide lots of evidence and have battle with people which is exhausting and draining.....
Did take CS bags and add 2 jackets, 1 scarf and 1 scarf in bag for DD1 236
Looked out 3,scarves took photo and sent it to DD1 to ask if wanted any, she picked one, and another one went back in drawer. Drawer was marie kondo'd a few years ago and stays immaculate as only one section of current underwear used, and scarfs, tights, and other neatly rolled things untouched. As have space not a priority......
Please be kind to yourselves and extra hugs to those who are finding life a battle or difficult at the moment.14 -
Happy Birthday Bala!

@balabooberlies I hope your birthday was amazing, and best wishes for the rest of the year !@stellata , yes, to having certain things on different floors. I have toilet cleaner and disinfectant spray in both toilet down stairs and bathroom. Also a small pot with pens and a pair of scissors upstairs for writing birthday cards or a list, and cutting off tags on clothing. Just try not to have too many secondary spots for items.Hugs to those in need.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.14

Thank you all for lovely birthday wishes.
I knew that I wasn't in the mood to celebrate, I didn't know that I would be dragging myself around due to awful sleepless night. Grief hits you at funny times.
However, wonderful conversation with one of my dad's brothers, texts with the other. They live near each other and I am glad of that.
Spent the weekend at Mum's, with siblings, and tackled dad's garage. Very little salvaged as remnants of his old business none of us have room for. I saved one of his very heavily used A4 diaries, just to remember how active and hard working my father was. Also some steps for the kitchen as it's his fault that I'm vertically challenged !
Floss, sorry you feel unwell. You know what I'm going to say......take it easy.....
Sue, right there with you. x

Wort and stellar... I think its when your have four or five back up places for things and then not ways using them
That may be Feb or March as focusing on getting essentials currently with RL and stuff occupying all available energy.
Sometimes we don't have the energy and some things can and should wait while we recover or the time is right.12 -
@weenancyinAmerica hope you manage to get the car sorted and that the funeral went as well as these things can .Happy belated birthday @balabooberlies, hope you slept better last night.

It was good to get some paperwork sorted yesterday, there’s a bit of information I need to find today, so whilst I’m looking in my files of paperwork for that, I’ll check to see if there’s anything that can be shredded.Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗13 -
Hello all,
Sorry I'm late with my weekly update (my plan is to review progress on a Sunday and post asap after that), but I have been keeping up with all your wonderful progress each day, an inspiration that's keeping me at it despite my work taking a lot of my focus at present.
Love and best wishes to all who are feeling poorly or down, i see people have been providing goodies to the TLC carriage, I hope you find solace there and that everyone's support helps you regain your get up and go, in time.
Thank you so much @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for my wonderful Gold Star ⭐️ for passing my mending milestone, I'm really chuffed! Sadly my weight has gone up slightly, 0.4kg (just under a pound in old money), but with all the sitting at the desk I've been doing for work, I’m relieved it wasn't worse!Items decluttered out of the house – 24 boxes, 5 Printer cartridges, 4 electronic items, 2 broken sets lights, broken ornament and 8 items clothing for rags, broken earphones, 3 x 3D TV glasses, ipod hub and broken folder to tip, 5 electronic items back to apple shop for recycling, 12 Magazines given away / recycled, 15 books to Oxfam bookshop and 63 items to charity shops and 6 ood / ancient freezer food items eaten
Tidying - 3 drawers in office (feel happy each time I open one now), 1 bag and 1 box from dd1 bedroom, pile of old post sorted, 2 shelves and 1 crate in ds bedroom. Earring retrieved from bath U bend by plumber - so relieved as it was one of a pair my late mother gave me years ago (I’d seen them in a shop, lovely small sapphire [my birthstone] and gold hearts, and mentioned it to her. Next time I went in the shop they’d gone, so disappointed. On my Birthday I was really happy when I unwrapped the present from my parents and there they were!)
Unsubscribed from 1 emailing list and changed subscriptions of paper magazines to online versions and saved myself £69.43 per year!
Big frogs this week –
Persuaded my ds and dd1 to help me put all the Christmas decorations away, this involves me crawling into the eaves storage space and them passing the boxes etc to me, not pleasant but felt good once I’d done it. There are now 8 fewer boxes so adding 9, including the bald tree going, to my decluttering total.
2 of the boxes bought recently to (sort coloured pencils into) returned to Hobbycraft as they were too small, replaced with an art bin, plus dye, paint and seam binding for more jobs / mending. Sharpened loads and loads of coloured pencils, sorted into colours and stored in new art bin. Now have a home into which I can tidy all the coloured pencils from all round the house (since found 3 more lots to deal with!).
30 other jobs of varying sizes decluttered from my list of things to do.
Purchases incoming – not bought anything for me other than items for sorting / mending, although have bought new school uniform for dd2. Trampoline being decluttered to a friend today so counting that as 1 item gone.
Total was 409, add 205 = total 614 /5000 (day 27, target is 378 so still ahead).
Finished Becoming by Michelle Obama (cheating a bit as I’d already read 1/3rd ages ago) - Total 3/52. Aiming for a least one other book before I start my book group book (Three Women)
Mending – used a darker colour on the two sheets the oxygen bleach didn’t work on – lovely dark blue colour now, and no impact on the washing machine (worried it might linger and dye our light clothes) – Total 16/52.
UU 1 old mascara from dd1, and one old and sticky bath bomb to binNow I’ve put all my progress together I’m really surprised and pleased with what I’ve done!
Love to all on board! H x

402. Loyalty cards that I don't use
403. Bundle of old training notes
404. Modified morning routine 23/100
One achievement that I'm proud of was that I managed to not buy anything in the CS I dropped my stuff off even though a few things caught my eye. And talking about eyes...... I had my first eye test since my surgery and it confirmed what I knew - my sight has deteriorated significantly in the affected eye also, apparently I have a small cataract in both eyes ! I was expecting one as a side affect of the treatment but was surprised about the other one... Anyhoo ... best not start dwelling on it again - I allowed myself time yesterday but I need to get moving today - work this morning and prep for the wedding trip tomorrow.
405. Went for eye test
406. Started my knee exercises given by osteopath
406. Large silicone spoon that had become tacky
Happy Birthday for yesterday Bala
