Right after I sent in my last post, my roommate came in to say the car was dead - again. This is the third time in less than two months - replaced the battery already so something else is shorting it out. All I want is a reliable car - wishful thinking. Present car is 18 years old. But it does stop you from going shopping unless you can walk to it (bus service is miserable here). Had to rearrange my entire schedule for a few days as the mechanic isn't available until tomorrow and doesn't know when it can get fixed. No hurry for me - waiting for my next check due in a couple of days to pay for it. Have a funeral to go to this afternoon, but we can walk to it. So going to tackle the yard instead of going out otherwise. Should be able to get several of my frogs taken care of that way.12

I didn't get to the cleaning today but I have stayed in and have a few things to report;
212 I found a random pencil and went to return it to the drawer but decided to sort through the small drawer set - various dead pens, tops with no pen, pencils with no rubber (I use them for my puzzles so need a rubber) binned. Some pencil sharpeners and larger rubbers to bag of stationery items in CS bag (who needs 6 of each)
213-216 Browsed shelf whilst drinking tea - Gardening journal, book, computer programme or something, passport holder - all to CS bag
217 Dead clock in hall to bin - will not work no matter what you do with it - replaced with a picture I like which had no proper home
218 Small plastic box of carp found in a drawer - rehomed where it belongs or binned
219 Downloaded talk I missed on Monday, watched it then deleted
220 Scanned some of the sorted postcards - filed in correct place on computer and originals moved to the 'dealt' with box.

Judge each day not by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds which you sow.11 -
Mrs S.D. so glad your results are clear.
Wee Nancy, OH just paid for MOT and 3 new tyres, amongst a few small other things. Know how you feel.
My birthday today, couldn't sleep last night, so did almost nothing today apart from usual.

I'm trying to declutter Covid bugs as tested positive yesterday on my twice-weekly LFT. Worked yesterday & today but am feeling pretty ropey now so think there might be a couple of sofa-days ahead.
I did do 30m in the garden yesterday after seeing a rodent out there climbing the small tree that holds the bird feeders (all squirrel-caged!)...pots & compost bag have now been moved around to disturb regular routes, cotton wool soaked in peppermint oil stuffed into compost heap, died-back clump of plants raked out & dead foliage bagged for disposal.
The next phase is to dig out the died-back plants (which I don't like anyway) then unbuild the compost heap frame & dig the contents into the adjoining bed. I am planning the future planting to be nicer to look at & attract butterflies & bees whilst staying quite informal & in proportion to the size of the garden.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Happy birthday Bala
Glad your results were all clear Mrs SD
So I didn't manage anything until today, I'm still no 'right' but I've gone through loads of bags and boxes from the living room (that came from the unit) 3 black bags of clothes for charity shop/bank.
Quiet a few boxes sorted and condensed, a lot of DH old business stuff. We have enough straws/poppers/confetti etc to last us a lifetime .
4 empty boxes were added to the box pile.
6 inches of paperwork sorted from 2009/11, ready to join the rest for the incinerator.
Also found a sealed, still in the delivery box, stand mixer, not sure what we are doing with it yet.
So today's list of things that have left the house are
197-229 old balloon display arrangements (possibly 5 years old and some still inflated)
230 trampoline pole foam
231 100 emails deleted
232 bag of rubbish/broken hangers
233 broken toy
234 broken glasses
235 broken balloon pump

Two more folders in the filing cabinet sorted ,why did we keep the opening paper work for an account we haven’t had since 2019 ?Like with like is helping so much ,bought some cheap plastic wallets ,have labelled them and stuff going together as sorted ,even down to NTand English Heritage sharing a folder !
it is obvious that during the last few years I’ve just put papers in randomly in any section12 -
