Thank you, that's helpful, I've had a read and will make sure I work through it properly. Lots of unhelpful thoughts going on at the minute that I would love to tackle!
And yes, I definitely need to take more down time 🙄 I spend plenty of time not doing much, but not much actively relaxing if you see what I mean.
Today hasn't been too ooh bad. Up early for Bessie's tablets, then left for work at 7.15 🙄 Arrived 8.30, left 4.30, and in those 8 hours I had 3.5 of teaching, 2 of meetings, and spent half an hour moving the car because there were only 4 hour parking spots 🙄 Got home at 5.45, Bessie's tablets again, then I was getting wound up so we went on a little jaunt and spent some of our M0rrisons vouchers. Perfectly cheerful, nice bit of hanging out with Mr Cheery, a bit of scenery (in the dark), but I'm not sure a trip round the supermarket really counts as relaxation after a day at work 😂
Supermarket is also about 10 miles away so it was half 8 by the time we got home. Yawn!
Going to do everything we can to get a holiday in the next 2 or 3 months. We've not had more than the odd night sleeping on a friend's sofa bed since 2017 - and our only holiday in 2017 was 3 nights sleeping in a friend's spare room (in Berlin).
Anyway. Tomorrow up early for Bessie's tablets again, then I'm going to work and Mr Cheery is going to his dad's. I've asked a local friend to come and help me with the evening tablet - if not, Mr Cheery will have to cut his visit short and come back.
Thursday will be hectic, SO many things going on, including an event that goes on til 9pm (online at least - I'm supporting someone whwho'presenting for the first time so not going to drop out).
Then I'm on strike for a week 🙄 Could do without losing the money - but at least it'll be 10 days off in a row!8 -

I know you have said you won't be getting paid during the strike days. But, because you are feeling the way you are at the moment maybe it is meant to be to give you some much needed time to spend doing what you really want to and not actually be working. Maybe make yourself something from your sewing material stash, it's always nice to be able to sit for a while and enjoy some sewing or knitting plus it is very relaxing. Maybe make some of those present bags you have mentioned on here before because they would come in useful during the year. Have lots of nice walks with Mr Cheery around where you live because it is beautiful and you can leave the car at home. Have a movie night in and make yourselves some homemade pizzas with extra toppings on just because you can and you deserve a whole evening off.
Just make the most of the time you have away from work to just be yourself and have as much chill out time as you can.
And, most of all remember to breathe you lovely lady 😊😘😁

Maybe that time off is just what you need to get your bedroom finished and finally move in. Imagine how lovely it will be to start back to work from a nice, freshly decorated relaxing bedroom.8

Or to research holidays! You have a demanding schedule, you really need some genuine down time and responsibility-free holiday to build up your resources again.2023: the year I get to buy a car8

Thank you all, you're all very lovely 😊😊
Definitely do need a holiday, and I've just been talking to my friend who has her own chickens, and whose husband is a pet sitter - we're going to get them to come and feed ours and put them to bed while we're away. I just need to find a suitable date at work now and decide where to go! Eek! Been so long I've forgotten how to even think about holidays 😂😂
Today has been a bit of a palaver. Up early for Bessie's tablets, drove to work, but the only thing that I'd actually gone into the office for turned out to be a presentation where I was the only person who turned up! For goodness sake.
Never mind. Collected friend on the way home to help me with Bessie's tablets as Mr Cheery is at his dad's. Then we sneaked off to the cafe for a late afternoon coffee 😁 Very jolly. I dropped her back at home, and am now back at my house, gearing up to do a bit more work before stopping... Not much, but tomorrow is hectic so I want to ease some of that (and I did stop at 2pm today 😂 But then tomorrow is going to be a 12 hour day so...)
Right, stop waffling and get on!12 -
Morning chums 😊
More chicken drama last night - Bonny seemed suddenly really quite unwell, completely out of the blue, and hadn't gone into the hen house when we went to tuck them in. Very much expected her to be dead this morning, and was awake through the night fretting that they had bird flu, and either they'd all be dead today or we'd have to report it to Defra, who would kill them all anyway 😮
Anyway, she seems fine this morning 🙄 Not saying she is - they're very good at hiding illness - but if I'd not seen her last night, I wouldn't have thought there was anything at all wrong this morning. We'll wait and see.
Anyway, the sun is shining, we are in the cafe, and I'm meeting a friend for a walk later. Trying to do a bit of a plan of what needs doing now I'm off for 10 days.

Pets are such a worry! Our cat had a severe breathing difficulties last weekend and we were preparing ourselves to loose her. Thanks to our excellent vet she pulled through and is just going to need lifelong care for asthma but it was very close and I don’t think I have quite recovered from the stress of it yet. Also totally sympathising with the tablet giving anxiety. Our previously trusting cat now runs and hides if she sees us both in the same room as she thinks we are going to give her a tablet or take her to the vet and it’s breaking my heart. Keep telling myself that the calmer I am the calmer she will be. Thank you for sharing. It helps to know others are going through the same thing sometimes.11
