That's a great storecupboard list Cheery - and I've also now been reminded that once I have some freezer space I really MUST get back to soaking and cooking dried chickpeas and freezing them in "tin" sized portions.
How daft/inefficient of the vets with the tablets - do make sure they credit you for them if they now say it's not worth giving them to Bessie after the missed doses - I mean you may well end up using them at some stage in the future but that's not really the pint is it! might focus their mind a bit on being more efficient in the future anyway!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Have to say I'm not entirely convinced by the idea of spaghetti pie! 😮😂 But definitely a good idea to use it as a sauce of some kind, not thought of that!
Just waiting for the actual vet to ring me back to say whether it's worth carrying on now she's missed 6 doses 🙄 I'm assuming not! She's booked to do another home visit on Wednesday, but at the minute Bessie seems ok... If anything, I imagine she just needs some fluid draining, but the vet couldn't do that last time as she didn't have the scanner to see where it was. She's said she might be able to bring it this time - if she can't, there doesn't seem to be much point her coming as there won't be anything new she can do anyway.
If we cancel it'll save herr about 4 hours and us £260. Of she can do the draining though, I'll keep the appointment.
In other MSE news, I've just done a £5 Populous survey, my first one!
And I'm most of the way round my first coat of skirting board oil 😁😁

Will you get the first coat on all of the skirting boards today?
I have a serious aversion to tinned spaghetti if I had my way it would be banned unfortunately dd likes to have to eat it occasionally so I have relented and allowed a couple of tins in the house.

First coat is on, second coat is nearly half way (just resting my knees for a minute). I'll do a final coat tomorrow.
Might even get the final coat of gold on the wall today too.
We've spent quite a bit of time trying to get the four poster bed up the stairs 🙄😂 No joy yet. There's a little bit we can remove that might make a difference, but Mr Cheery has left the box of screwdrivers at his dad's house, so that might have to wait til after Thursday now. I'm not convinced it'll fit even if we remove this bit, but... Worth a try for a four poster bed, and a free one at that! 😂7 -
I'm the complete opposite I will happily eat baked beans.
Go you on the skirting board, I'm not surprised your knees need a break.
Fingers crossed you can get the bed up the stairs, we had a similar problem with a bed frame many years ago, we ended up giving the beautiful bed to a family member. I think I would be glad Mr C left the screwdrivers at his dad's gives you a break from wrestling with the bed.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I'd rather know now if we could get the bed in or not. If we can't, we'll have to dismantle our existing bed to move it between rooms - but we can't do that without all the tools anyway so either way it's going to have to wait til next weekend 🙄
Skirting looks good - it's just Danish oil so I didn't think it'd make much difference but it does actually, it's a bit darker with more of a sheen, and it makes everything look more finished. Most pleasing!8 -
Right! Skirting is finished for today- I'll do one more coat in the morning.
Delighted to report that we DID get the four poster upstairs 😂 It splits into pieces of course, just not very small pieces, and our stairs are narrow and steep...
But fortunately we don't care about the paintwork on the stairs, and so we have been successful with a lot of pushing and shoving 😁
Next step is to take up the mattress and base and get the dehumidifier on, but I'm leaving that til I've done the gold paint, don't want that to dry out too quickly.
Mr Cheery has expanded the biriyani he made the other night, and we are off out to eat it in the garden while the chickens shout at us from their beaky prison 🙄😂9 -

Certainly done more today than many days recently Beanie! I think not being at work helps... Roll on retirement (or Agent Million!)
Pushed on and got the gold wall finished, thank goodness! Pleased about that - I do like painting but not with this weird metallic paint on flat walls (it's LOVELY on old textured wallpaper and looks ace 😂).
Also spoke to the vet - she's meant to be coming out again on Wednesday, but there's no point her coming if she can't bring the scanner in case Bessie needs fluid draining again. She's going to ring me Wednesday to confirm. Sadly she said it WAS worth continuing the antibiotics, so back to the old regime 🙄 I didn't catch whether she was saying to finish the second lot of 7 days (we'd have 8 tablets left) or whether she was saying take the whole new course she sent in the post (which means another 14 tablets, on top of the 20 she's already had). Hope not!! Will be speaking to her on Wednesday so can ask then.
Did a bit of Happy Wheel spinning tonight for the first time in days. Up £14.41, but still down £8 overall for March 🙄 Need to get back on the case - will do a bit every day while I'm off and see where we get to!9 -
Well done on getting the decorating finished. It will be lovely and calming for you once your bedrooms all set up. Enjoy your time off but do try to have some down time xx2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
