The household legal cover covers for lots of things. My DH was misdiagnosed and subsequently died, I’ve a 29 page nhs report explaining where it went wrong (dr not following protocol, then system error (now been changed) then radiographer reporting error) my house legal cover is covering legal costs for this.Sealed pot challenge 822

Late to the conversation but both HSBC and Halifax will allow you to pay cheques in by taking a photo. If your mother forgets to sign or date it (for example) they write to you and you have to then pay it in in branch once it has been amended by said parent. Its really useful if you have cheques in joint or OH's name, and you open a joint unfunded savings account so you can pay them in and snaffle them into your own account.
Not speaking from experience on any of these points, obviously. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Edwink, thank you for sharing your experiences of your rainwater harvesting etc, how fascinating! I knew you had lots of excellent things going on, but not just how complex your set up was. Don't ever apologise for sharing stuff like that here! I'd love to have something other than a septic tank here, but it's way down the line for us at the minute. Maybe in a few years!
Well, I've not had a bad day today.Cafe this morning with a paper copy of my job form to scribble on, then sat in front of the computer from about 11-7, when I gave up and we went to the supermarket to spend some of our vouchers on treats 🙄😂 Not wild treats - a pizza that cost less than £2, some quorn sausages, a yogurt with little toffee hoops in - wild Saturday night round here 😂😂
Just running a bath for after the pizza is done. Going to be another long one tomorrow so I want a decent rest!17 -

Cheery, loving your wild night inI'm having a typical wild night here too: as usual recently, I think "I must drink that last 25cl of prosecco left over from Christmas". And as usual what I *actually* wanted was a cup of tea

Fascinating stuff Edwink - thanks for sharing. I have a friend installing either rainwater harvesting or a grey water system (with an extension that hasn’t been built yet, so don’t think decision has been made) - will let her know!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning chums, hope you enjoyed your tea KC!
So. Mr Chery has gone to visit his dad, the chickens have had breakfast treats, the heating is on, I have a cup of tea, and am settling down for a day in front of the computer 🙄
Going to try to build in a few breaks though before the whole day passes and I end up crumpled and on the floor. So I'm going to try a 50 mins on/10 mins off schedule 😁 Maybe starting on the hour at 10 (I will get a few bits done before then). So, in breaks, I will:
9.50 - put some washing on
10.50 - fold clothes in bathroom
11.50 - run hoover round bathroom & living room
12.50-2 - lunch, clean out chickens and take them more treats, maybe put some woodchip on the muddy bit if the path
2.50 - hang washing up
3.50 - bit of tidying in my office
4.50 - plan for tea and do a bit of chopping
5.50-7 - make and eat tea
That gives me 8 working slots, and I'll hopefully be finished enough by then. If so, I'll have a nice bath and then watch Call the Midwife 😁 and if not, I'll settle back in for another couple of slots and then have a nice bath while watching call the Midwife 😁16 -
I find it quite useful having the water in the CT up here, it's one less bill to deal with.
Working in slots seems to achieve a lot more, doing a huge list in one go leads to procrastination. Hope it goes well.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.8 -
@dawnybabes Cheery has said it far more eloquently than I could - please accept a virtual hug from here.Hope your day went productively Cheery! Fascinating seeing the differing amounts people are paying for water - we’re at £380 a year here on an assessed bill - I’d blooming LOVE to have a meter but they can’t fit one. Originally when we were first switched to assessed we reckoned it worked out a bit cheaper than we’d have paid on metered but that’s definitely not the case any more!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you both 😊
No idea how we'd get on with a water meter. We don't do much cleaning 😂😂 but we are fond of a bath... And sometimes we end up attaching the cow's water trough to the mains supply if the spring runs dry in the summer 🙄😂
It's been a productive day! I'm pleased with what I've done, and definitely getting there. However, I'm still almost 3000 words over the word limit 🙄 Inprovement on lunchtime, when I was 6000 words over 😂 but still some work to do tomorrow. I've printed it, and can definitely see large areas where I've waffled, so I'll spend a couple of hours in the morning then send it off for comment even if it's still too long.
Didn't get my bath sadly, or watch Call the Midwife, shocking! Unhelpfully, I've got a bit of a stomach upset this evening 🙄 Probably not helped by me stuffing in a whole 100g bar of cho olate over the course of the day, although usually my constitution is strong enough to cope with that type of thing! 🙄😂
Won't be long out of bed I don't think. Let's hope no midnight loo dashes are required 😕14
