Allowing for the first cheque going astray I’m pretty certain you will be keeping this one under lock and key until it physically leaves the house to go to the bank, whenever it suits you to be able to do that! 😁9

Cheery, I'm sorry that you have been feeling a bit anxious recently. As others have said, you have had a fair amount going on over the past couple of years and the situation with Mr Cheery Snr can't be helping
Please try and make sure you do the things you need to keep yourself well, physically and mentally.
It's not difficult!

Anyway, a new week! Woodchip got delivered yesterday while we were out - they had to bring the trailer so there's more than last time - there's LOADS of it! 😮😂😂 I can easily use it up over the course of the year, but we will need to shift some as it's taking up the easy visitor parking space at the minute (they can park elsewhere if needed though, and we don't actually have any visitors booked in at the minute anyway).
Chickens will be delighted, it's getting rather muddy in there, and they do love raking round in wood chip.
Need to listen to answerphone message and get bank details so I can pay them.
Checked house insurance stuff the other day - I can't see anything amiss. Certainly didn't read anything telling me I had to sweep chimneys at particular points in the year which someone on here mentioned theirs says. Going to double check I've read everything before signing up though.
Right, best get my act together.

It's mine (the chimney that must be swept) - NFU dictated 1st September, the new ones asked to see the sweep certificate by the Guild of Master Sweeps chap. We are thatched here though.
We bank our cheques via DS who lives at the end of the road where the branch is. It takes months sometimes (he forgets!!)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

I am delighted to report that the cheque has been paid directly into the bank by Mr Cheery 😊 so that's a nice bit of shuffling i can do once it's cashed 😊
Aha, makes sense that a thatched house would have stringent chimney sweeping requirements! I'll still check just in case, but don't remember seeing that anywhere else.
Mr Cheery returned with an ice cream twix 😁😁16 -
Oooh, ice cream twix sounds awesome....Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yum to the ice cream Twix and well done Mr C for depositing the cheque!
