Thank you all, and Merry Christmas to you all too! 😊😊
We have had a lovely afternoon with Mr Cheery's family, nice and relaxed and cheerful 😊 Just taking his dad home, and then heading back ourselves, so should be back by 9.30 ish, so still time for a festive tipple, opening our own presents, and maybe a christmassy film 😊😊10 -

Thank you both!
Well, today did not go as originally planned... We had, of course, booked ourselves onto a sunrise to sunset race, same one we did last year. However, the forecast was utterly dire, with weather warnings in place for wind and rain 🙄
I woke at 5am to a text from my sister suggesting that we might reconsider... So we did 😂 Slept for another few hours, and then met for lunch and a lazy afternoon of cafe hopping, and planning our goals for the next year 😂
A very satisfactory outcome. Although not exactly a money saving one. We had of course paid for the race, and then we paid for lunch, tea and cake, and then another cuppa - about £25 extra on top of the race fee (we would have spent a bit on refreshments at the race though).
Mr Cheery and I walked out to the road for a bit of a leg stretch this evening. We walked less than a mile, and we're so windswept and soggy that I was VERY glad my sister and I hadn't spent 8 hours out in it 😂😂8 -
Wise suggestion from your sister. It sounds wild out there, nobody here has felt inclined to leave the house 😄Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

A bit of a dire day - I almost closed the curtains until I realised it wasn't even 1pm yet. I thought it was going to look up after yesterdays sunshine.

So, I have a list for tomorrow, and that will involve getting into some good habits!
* Workout
* put away stuff i prepared for today's race
* order final Christmas presents 🙈
* order new toilet seat - shockingly I spotted this written in my 2022 goals book and I've still not done it 😱😂
* start sewing Mr Cheery's hat
* spend 15 mins on paperwork - my paperwork cupboard has gotten rather out of hand lately, so I want to start tackling it. I've printed front sheets to go with paperwork for every account, explaining what it is, how to access, what it's used for. Probably unnecessary, but I do most of the financial admin in this house, I'm doing a fair bit of bank switching and shuffling between savings accounts, and if anything happened to me right now, poor Mr Cheery would be sifting through a gazillion accounts trying to figure out what was going on. Not going to get sorted in one day but I can make a start!
That'll probably do - I want to prioritise sewing and getting the house straight, I'm enjoying having things nice and relatively tidy and I'd like to keep it that way!5 -
I do feel official mouse catcher should be on your 23 list of achievements! On the teeth my very experienced private dentist who did my implants did the removal of the old tooth and the implant stem on the same day as he said the amount of bone left meant it would have been much more difficult if I had had the tooth removed beforehand - may not be in your case. It’s been two years now and had no issues at allDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Ha, yes, the mice have certainly taken a fair bit of time! 😂
I'm not planning implants at the minute LaPlan, it'll just be dentures for me, for now, at least, so they'll need to do impressions nd wait til they're made. One day, maybe!
Right. I'm not out of bed, but I do have a toilet seat sat in an online basket - just need to check it will fit (it should do, but best to check...). Time to get up!
Paperwork first i think - we are still sharing a laptop 🙄 so it's easier for me to access it firs thing. I want to start the process of retrieving money from one of the switched banks - need to do it in stages so they don't trigger a fraud investigation and lots of tedious phone calls 🙄6
