    Frog email sent, response received asking me not to contact again (expected). Feel sh*t, but there we are 😕 My fault originally - a thoughtless action, the result of a busy week and pain from a wonky back. I dealt with it as I could at the time, and with the aftermath as I could today, but can't avoid that someone is annoyed, and has also informed lots of others how annoyed they are. Several learning points for me.

    Not a good feeling, and not one I want to cultivate very often! 😕
    @Cheery_Daff I'm on p374.  The above sounds a very childish response.   No-one gets it right 100% of the time (though I'm sure you come close) but that has sll the hallmarks of an unhealthy grudge that will not help the life or career of the respondent! You are fab.  Love Humdinger xx
    Thank you xx

    I break down my supermarket shop into various pots.  It's so easy with YNAB to separate them out.  After all you can buy things apart from food there.  Sometimes my grocery spend will be quite small compared with the overall bill.  For example I might spend £50 but only £15 is actual groceries as I've bought some socks (clothing pot), some plasters (medical pot), a new roasting tin (household pot), more than a month's worth of tinned tomatoes (bulk fund).

    It means I can easily see how much we are actually spending on that month's shopping and also how much is being bought in bulk over the year.

    Interesting, thank you for sharing! I think I'm definitely going to split more. We do often buy several eg bags of porridge, tins of chick peas etc at once - not sure I'll separate bulk things but really interesting to hear how you do it. Do you keep those things separately from the rest of your food?

    I love your kitchen units, it's what I would like in our kitchen. Do you mind me asking where they are from?
    Thank you! They're solid oak, hand made by a little relatively local place. I'm not even sure they advertise - they came with the builder 😂 I'll see if I can find their name, it's oj the tip of my tongue... They were two lovely guys, and I've been very happy with the units. They're solid oak doors, except for the curved ones 😊)

    Ha, remembered as soon as I posted! Not sure where you are in the world, but they're very small and I think just do pretty local -

    I love this feature as well JD!!! - I'm mostly about one stop shopping, be it in person or on-line so this is the handiest way to know our 'real expenditures' and how much we need to budget for them 😊

    Over the years, this has become a handy tool when it comes to actual 'spending' money. We've realized that we rarely fritter away anything, OH at a paltry 4 pounds a month & myself at a slightly higher 17 pounds.

    I have a large larder cupboard in my kitchen which holds most of my dried and canned food.  Any extras I have go into a wardrobe in the spare bedroom which doesn't get used now!  DDs now live within driving distance and don't stay any more and my DSis has moved to the opposite end of the country (I'm in Kent, she's in Scotland!) and it's unlikely she'll visit again now we're both getting older - I certainly don't want to drive that distance again although did visit this year for a week but doubt will do it again.

    Morning MSE chums!

    Right, today needs a plan. Ultimate priority is job form, but that will expand to fill any and all available time between now and Thursday 🙄 and I would like to get some other things done too. So...

    MORNING
    * workout
    * breakfast and quick wipe round kitchen & put dishes away
    * shower and dressed
    * washing on
    * get dehumidifier into the car 🙄 Utterly stinks in there. Mr Cheery's dad had an accident in there a while ago, then Mr Cheery left the window open and both front seats got soaked and now it stinks of damp too, and it's had a mouse in there too which is also not helping 🙄 So drying out properly is a good start since it's not raining today!
    * job form - every section of personal statement now has something in, so send couple of emails asking for advice/extra reference, and spend 10 mins editing each section (there are 10...)
    * hang washing outside

    AFTERNOON
    * make something wholesome for dinner - and make couple of extra portions for freezer
    * meal plan while eating
    * job form - another 5 mins on each section, and print for Mr Cheery to have a look at (he spent 20 years as an editor, so is useful to have around at such times 😂)
    * flute practice - probably at least an hour
    * make some snack bar things for work snacks (literally just blending a cheap bag of fruit & nuts, and mixing with a bar of dark chocolate melted in the microwave)
    * bring washing in
    * band practice - I'll be out 4pm til 7.30.

    EVENING
    * move dehumidifier into spare room
    * make tea including extra portion for freezer
    * make breakfast and dinner for tomorrow (working at home)
    * 15 min declutter
    * washing away (including last lot which is still in my study)
    * clothes ready for tomorrow

    Er, not even sure if that's all physically possible in the time available - I guess we're more likely to find out if I actually get out of bed 🙄😂
    Your mission @Cheery_Daff, should you choose, is to get up and get dressed! Happy New Year to us all love Humdinger x
