Thanks all. I've emailed the 'space management' folk - let's see what they come back with...
Also ended up staying at a friend's tonight near work 🙄 Mr Cheery's suggestion - he advised driving this far (5 mins), having a cuppa, and seeing how I felt. Driving 5 mins wasn't bad, but I didn't feel inclined to go much further... Anyway, I am now fed and showered, and settling down to FINISH DRAFTING MY FUNDING FORM while she puts her daughter to bed 🙄
Honestly, I feel like a kid who's not done their homework tonight 🙄5 -
Good suggestion of Mr Cheery’s - bravo that man! 👏
Stop before 10pm please! You will be much fresher first thing tomorrow. 😊

How's your back today? Hope you weren't up too late with your funding bidGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2004

Hoping both the back and the funding bid are feeling healthier this morning! Good call not to drive al the way back last night too I'd say - and it certainly won't have done any harm if it didn't do any good.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks folks 😊
Both friend and I ended up working til about 11pm - not ideal but at least companionable 🙄😂
Long day at work yesterday too, a LOT of meetings, a bit of ranting 🙄 But I did get some feedback on the funding bid. Managed to drive home, and started work on it again in the evening, finished about 10.
Day off today theoretically, but as it's (a) due in at 5pm and (b) not finished, I think we can see what the day is going to hold... 🙄😂
Another night of not great sleep sadly - I'm generally a right fidget, and every time I try and turn over the pain wakes me up 🙄 I go back to sleep quickly, but it's not ideal.
5 hours of meetings yesterday didn't help 🙄 and today will mostly be spent sitting down too. But no plans for the weekend, so hopefully I can do a bit more moving around.
Plan for today is to have a complete draft ready by 11am for Mr Cheery (who spent many years as an editor) to check over.
While he's doing that, I'll finish off my CV, which has to be in a very particular style of storytelling format.
Then I imagine we'll have a small squabble about his suggested amendments, wherein he will demand outrageous, unreasonable things, and I will (a) cry because I know he's probably right but I have no time to do them properly and/or (b) get cross because he clearly doesn't understand the context.
Then we will have a conciliatory cuppa, and I will make cursory changes, because by this point I WILL NOT CARE whether I get it or not.
Planning to submit by 3pm so we have time for a celebratory cafe trip, but also half expecting to be submitting at 4 55 🙄😂7 -
That made me laugh in sympathy Cheery. DH and I have a similar style of "accepting changes" DH has worked in a corporate area for a while as various levels of manager so he always proofreads any reports I need to submit about my work etc. He also suggests outrageous changes and we have "words" Mainly due to the fact that I work with children and teenagers and so get straight to the point, whereas he fluffs it up with corporate language and buzzwords which I hate, but always goes down well with the people I submit reports to (and decide whether or not to renew my funding 🙄)
We also come to a compromise over a conciliatory cuppa!!
Hope the funding bid goes smoothly and you are all submitted by the earlier time plan.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2004 -
