๐๐๐ I confess I did have a moment of indecision once I'd got into the car this morning... it was a lovely sunny morning with mist sitting in the valley, and I just wanted to hang out in the garden ๐ย
Debated with myself for a few mins - didn't NEED to be in the office today, could have saved myself 2 hours of driving and spent that time in the garden... but in reality, I would have felt the need to socialise anyway, and I can listen to my audio book while driving, so here I am ๐
Sun's shining though ๐ and I've just had my 2.30 meeting cancelled, so I've done a couple of Prolific studies (ยฃ33.30 cleared, ยฃ5.75 waiting) and am going to sit outside for 5 mins with a hot chocolate. We've got picnic benches out the back here, and someone is growing a bit of veg so I might be inspired ๐8 -
Howdy, Cheery.ย I have just caught up with your diary after my time away from the boards.ย I'm so glad you finally tried the acid cleaner on the stones - the suspension was building up for me, and I was getting desperate to know if it would workย
.
Your diary has prompted me to go back on Prolific, so will see how much I manage to built up on there for September.ย Think I'll use it as extra pin money, as due to various things spare cash might be a bit tight for a while here, and I do like my time out with friends.
Hope your office day has gone well. Audiobooks on longer car journeys are great - always feels like its has been productive time!ย My new car has integral bluetooth so hopefully that should make listening less of a faff!Live the good life where you have been planted.

Thanks Elisheba - sadly this car doesn't have Bluetooth (the other one does) so I have to resort to headphones - and this morning I managed to rip the ear off one of them before I set off because I leaned over to wipe the passenger wing mirror and it was wrapped round the seat belt ๐
Still, it's got one ear remaining so won't be getting replaced any time soon ๐๐7 -
Work is vexing today - nice quiet office, and I'm plodding through tasks, but for some reason work Internet is so slow! Slower than home, which h is saying something ๐ I'm spending a lot of time waiting for things to load or save or whatever. YAWN.
Mr Cheery and his friend have apparently not made it to the tip, and aren't going to, so apparently that's a job for me in the morning before my family visitors arrive ๐ Not what I would have chosen, but there we are. In fact, I would have left the stuff in the shed until I was actually ready to put it in the car, rather than dumping it all in the front garden but hey ho! ๐4 -
Who would have thought that listening to a book would allow you to concentrate on your driving more than listening to a radio.ย I often find the radio a distraction, when I don't a book.

Re headphones, probably safer with just one - I'd worry I wouldn't be as aware of what was going on around me with headphones in!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! ยฃ132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh I do mostly only wear one, even when just working in the garden, and certainly while driving. The other one just caught on the seat belt! I do try to swap ears though, which I now can't do ๐๐4

If your car has a headphone jack you can get adapters for the USB-C port in the phone to plug it in and play things like they're the radio.. Generally much easier (though my jack lead is broken after I closed it in the car door so I'm back to balancing my phone on my knee and turning the volume up!)Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: ยฃ240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Ah, that's what we do in the other car! It's got Bluetooth, but I was forgetting that it refuses to play music, so we use a cable. This car doesn't even do that, so headphones in the phone it is ๐4

Ah, I see Cheery - I did think it seemed unlike you to be wearing headphones while driving. That makes more sense.ยMortgage free 16/06/2023! ยฃ132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
