Thanks. I've sorted them somewhere to go now, it was so hard choosing between the people who offered and I'm still not sure I've made the right choice 🙄 But they all looked cheerful, and they'll have a good life wherever they go.
Taking them on Sunday morning. Kind of wish it was sooner (and I suspect we would have been able to take them to the other people sooner than that but never mind).
Probably not going to be the most cheerful couple of days here 🙄9 -
Such a hard decision to make, but I'm sure it is probably the right one - you'll have thought it through thoroughly, it's just a hard decision whatever.
Thinking of you both - I can imagine that it's all feeling rather miserable at the moment.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Awful decision, Cheery, but I'm sure the people you've chosen are "good enough", as the saying goes in relation to mothering, seriously. It's more yourself and Mr Cheery that need looking after at the moment, I think. All the best.2023: the year I get to buy a car7

Thank you all. I'm happy with the decision to rehome them, even though it's hard. Today I'm being a fuss pot about the home I've chosen, and whether I should have chosen a different one 🙄 The woman seems very kind, she has a big garden, a few other hens, says all the right thing. She's borrowing a coop from a friend, I think just to put them in temporarily while they get used to the others, but I'm having visions of them being kept in a tiny run on their own now they've got used to roaming free (even though they actually don't go very far anyway 🙄)
Sigh. Anyway, she messaged me this morning, so I checked, and they've got a nice big area and will be free ranging in the garden with the others soon so all good.
Poor woman probably thought she was just rehoming a couple of chickens not running a pet counselling service 🙄😂
Anyway. Some friends came over last night and stayed over, which was lovely. We got quite drunk and stayed up til 3am, and at some point I thought it would be a good idea to book a swim session for 9am 🙄 I wentthough! Very tired now, and got a birthday party to go to this evening.
Good to keep busy though. After we've dropped the ladies off tomorrow we're going to spend the afternoon with some friends, so hopefully we won't be back til quite late.
Right, trying to finish by greenhouse bench!9 -

Thank you ladies xxx to be fair I wouldn't have asked her anything this morning if she hadn't messaged me to tell me she was getting their area ready. Bless her.
Right, on another note, my greenhouse staging is finished!! I'm delighted! Pottering about laying out my pots, so I can put the spare ones away under the seat.
Of course, it's far too hot to be in there now the sun's come out 🙄😂6 -
