Exciting being at the start of IronMay already - your commitment to signing up for that did inspire me to joining the strava cycling challenge for 200km cycled in a month too - I can see my mileage during April translates out into not so far below that level so perhaps I can push myself a little more this month and get a bit more distance in, we'll see...!
Your greenhouse staging sounds excellent too - great building work!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hmmm - new quote facility is a pain the ars3!!! - can't quote jus the bits & have to quote the whole message - SIGH - obviously designed by someone who didn't bother to consult the users…
…ok grumpiness over 😉 - the smilies are a million times better, but still no blue shrieky smilie - LOL
Cheery - I'm amazed with the very thought of IRON MAY! Sounds like a challenge & a half - will cheer you along from the sidelines! 🤩
We didn't get into the garden at all over the weekend, instead enjoying the great outdoors with friends & taking in a gardening fair & a cute village May Day faire. So today, we did tackle the garden - gave it a very overdue mow, pruned a few things & pulled up MORE overwintered parsnips.
Am now sitting down to tackle some boring but much needed paperwork, starting with a to do list & also finishing my tada list!

I'm not sure which of our lovely ladies made the term up years ago, but it's a list of things you've done today on a day when you havn't 'done anything' that was planned - a way of feeling good about the things you have accomplished - sometimes it's as simple as made the bed, brushed teeth, washed hair & sometimes it's a list as long as your arm of all the house chores that got done, just going from one thing to the next to the next! the hours always get spent doing something, we just have to applaud ourselves for what has been accomplished!

The ta-da list is great! I often use it because sometimes I'm really bad at following the list I've made, because I don't like any of the things I'm supposed to do 🤣 but I have done stuff, even if it wasn't at the top of my list 🤣

Evening all 😊
TMV - yep, just having a few days away from the Internet 😊 been a busy bee in various ways.
IronMay is going reasonably well! A short run and a 10 mile bike ride on Monday, nothing while at work Tues-Thurs, swam yesterday morning, and cycled 16 miles today 😮
Felt good while I was doing it, but I'm quite wiped now 🙄😂 Quite a balance between fitting everything in and not overdoing it...
What else? It's been quite a sociable week. Went to a friend's for tea on Wednesday. Popped in to see someone while I was on a work trip on Thursday, then yesterday we went for tea with some neighbours.
Sadly the friend from Wednesday has today tested positive for covid 🙄 We're meant to be going to see Mr Cheery's dad tomorrow 🙄 Going to see how i feel and we're both going to test in the morning - he's 86 with lung issues and doesn't need that on top of everything else 🙄 I don't feel ill - quite wiped but I think that's to be expected after the exercise.
My mum and sister are coming on Monday (well, if I haven't got covid). Need to tidy up - the main rooms are tidy, but we've been shifting furniture round so spare bedroom/study/music room are all in upheaval and there are books in piles outside the bathroom 🙄
Greenhouse still not finished - got the drill battery charging so I can get out and do the last bits, and then I might be able to sow some seeds on Monday!
Neighbours gave us a lawnmower!! Very exciting. It's electric - so far I've only done the bit right by the house as that's as far as the wire reaches 😂 We've got a super long extension on a roll somewhere so I need to dig that out. Not while it's raining though...
So tonight will be a relatively quiet one.
* get some tea on (what? Curry? Roasting some veg in the oven?? Wish I had a meal plan to tell me what to do 😂)
* tidy the study at least - that's downstairs and you can see it from the kitchen 🙄😂
* go and finish the greenhouse staging!
* probably have a nice bath and an early night 😊
Right, see you at some point soon. Trying not to pop in every day at the minute but I might have a wander round some diaries later on 😊13 -
glad to see you dropping in Cheery! & that it is just a 'time away' from t'internet that meant radio silence - LOL
