Cheery, I'm glad I'm managing to pop in on your birthday - it really doesn't sound like a good setup, but taking care of your own needs is an excellent idea. And that's a good exit map for chicken owning. It *has* been lovely being a vicarious chicken owner (like with Suffolk Lass and her bees
) but enough is enough.

Thank you all, both for your kind words about Budgie, and your birthday wishes!
Budgie has been given our usual beaky send off. The others were let out for several hours this afternoon, and despite having the run of pretty much all of Staffordshire, chose to spend most of it in our kitchen 🙄😂 Dont really blame them, it's been cold and drizzly for most of the day.
A mixed bag of a day here, but some cheerful things. Had a nice egg butty in a cafe, pottered round some charity shops, and spent a couple of hours building the next part of my greenhouse staging. It won't win any awards, it's possibly the wonkiest thing I've ever built 😂 But it works, and I now have a lovely wide workbench all down one side of the greenhouse 😊😊😊😊😊 Pulled out pallets that will do for the rest of it too, including my lounging bench 😁 I feel like I have a good plan now, so it might even get finished over the weekend, very exciting!
Nothing else to report. Done a bit of tidying up. Might be going out for tea in a bit.
Just wish it would warm the flip up - I want to sit out on the swing seat with a cup of tea! Hey ho, I'll be able to sit in the greenhouse with a blanket soon I suppose 😂7 -
Happy birthday on your mixed bag of a day - passes some cake 🍰8
