    I don't want to speak too soon with Budgie but I definitely have my fingers crossed that she will behave!

    Speaking of which... off to do anti inflammatories in a minute (but, as I say, it's liquid and will be concealed in an egg yolk so hopefully uncomplicated...)

    YNAB and banks done. All finally reconciled, although a bit messy because of expenses to claim, and also because I have an automatic transfer into, and straight back out of, another bank account to meet their opening requirements -they payment has gone out today, but not come back in again so I did spend a little while looking for the £1000 I'd 'lost'...

    Budget is rather awry what with expenses to reclaim, and also with about £320 worth of vets bills in the last couple of weeks. I've had to poach the £200 I'd earmarked for savings to make everything balance without pointlessly taking out of savings, but that's alright. Happy Wheel is at £268 for April as of today, so I'm hoping that will continue to rise over the next few days, or at least not drop too much...

    And now I really MUST do egg medicine!

    Morning chums 😊

    I'm having a lazy one this morning which is nice after a week of hectic-ness. Watched some lovely homesteading and gardening videos while doing the Happy Wheel - up £85 today bringing April's total to an excellent £350. Fingers crossed that continues to grow.

    Remembered that the bloke never got back to me with a date for the rendering on the side of the house. He quoted in about October, and said he could do it in April - I asked him to let me know a date, but clearly he's relying on me bothering to get back to him, which I'm currently not inclined to. The quote was £900, and I'm pretty sure I could get someone cheaper. Didnt get more quotes before, he came recommended by someone else, but I might try someone more over the summer. It's only a small bit of gable end, and that feels very expensive!

    Not sure what's on the cards for today. Budgie needs her medicine of course. Mr Cheery will no doubt want some kind of excursion. And I'd like to do some garden pottering.

    I built a bit of bench for the greenhouse the other day which is great, but I need to make the rest. Trying to do it all from pallets and other wood we have lying round. I'd like to get some seeds sown soon, but I think this next bench will need to built in situ, as we had a right job getting the last one through the door 🙄

    It's my clothes littering the bathroom sadly 🙄😂 Mr Cheery often sleeps in his, so they end up in bedroom 🙄 The washing basket is in the bathroom, but often I'll get undressed and leave my clothes intending to wear them another day, but perhaps not the next day... and before I know it half my wardrobe is down there 🙄😂

    I have one of those kind of dummy stand things - it has square footprint on the floor, a couple of bars to hang things over and a kind of broad ‘shouldered’ bit at the top - like a really large wooden jacket hanger. Perhaps one of those in your room along with a dressing gown for the trip to the bathroom might work?

    Kind of like this:
    As at 15.07.25:
    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
    - OPs to mortgage = £11,816 Interest saved £5,28 to date
    Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

    Sorry, should have said. I use mine for holding my garden work trousers and jeans in between washes at this time of year and folded skirts in the summer. Tops I want to re-wear, I rehang on the outside of my wardrobe.

    So, some things to do today and tomorrow.

    HOME
    * washing
    * unpack from work trip
    * clothes out of bathroom (do everyone's clothes migrate to the bathroom, or is it just because ours is so far away from the bedroom?!)
    * wash chicken dishes
    * will this be the weekend we finally take the Christmas tree down?! I think it might be!

    My uncle had his washing machine plumbed in in his bathroom because the family left their clothes in there, it made sense for themt o have it there. Although they lived in an upstairs maisonette with a very small balcony so they also had the tumble drier (blue heaired shrieking emoji) in there venting through the window.
    For us, we have the laundry baskets (one for whites, one for darks) on the blanket box on the landing, you have to walk past them to get to your bedroom after being in the bathroom so no excuses not to put your dirty clothes in there as you're passing. Although my boys managed to avoid this, resulting in a monthly 'mucking out' of their rooms!

    My daughter's room needs mucking out at least weekly, the eldest has always been on top of this. OH and dd have much in common 🤣 left to his own devices he wouldn't put his laundry in the basket and he would leave cups, plates, cutlery, tools, books etc where he stopped using them.
