I know!! 😱😱😱 the trains are only once an hour, and if I get the next one, I don't get into the right city til 8.20, and I'm presenting at 9, and it's a 25 min walk 🙄 Or a rush hour taxi. Neither of which i fancy taking my chances with. So 6.13 it is!
And also the train station has started charging for parking 🙄 Only £2 a day, but it'll be there for 3 days... Can't decide if it's worth it for the CCTV and lack of messing about, or if I'm too stingy to pay and would rather find a free spot elsewhere and walk 😂 I think that decision will be made at 6am, depending on how close I am to the station at that point... 😂5 -

Good point beanie, yes! And given that I've not actually managed to go to sleep yet, and it's just gone midnight, I strongly suspect I'll be in the car park!4

Thanks KK 😊
Delighted to report that I did actually get up on time 😂 Parked at the station and am now on the train - moved carriages and found one with heating on but it's not actually that much warmer than the one without 🥶 Wish I hadn't left my hot water bottle in the car now! 😂6 -

If there is an Argoose in the town you are travelling to, I recommend spending £5 of your hard-earned on a travel sized one of these, just in case your accommodation is not too warm either - I always have one in my travel bagSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Well done for getting the train on time - and hope the presentation went well. Oddly enough MrEH had to do a presentation this morning too - albeit I suspect his (to his work department) was on a little smaller scale than yours!
Quite right to park at the station and get the benefit of the CCTV if work are paying anyway - the time to be stingy is definitely when you're picking up the tab yourself!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well done Cheery on catching that train. At the funeral today I quickly scanned the extensive buffet table for trifle and a possible meeting with Starnac and exchanging secret messages such as do you know anyone called Cheery Daff? But sadly no trifle.Plenty of millionaires shortbread, strawberry and cream scone type tarts, lemon drizzle cake and other naughties but no trifle. So I was obviously at the wrong funeral. It was a lovely send off for a much respected brother in law so all was well despite no trifle.
Hoping Starnac had a good day too. I drove a round trip of 200 miles today which these days is a lot for me.5
