Well done, it looks great and very inspiring
I am thinking of tiling my bathroom floor as I hate the one there .. and neighbour just done hers .. and given me her excess underlay. However i am now looking and think I need to re-gloss the skirting boards and possibly repaint before I do the floor. I also need a shelf in there so want to buy my SDS drill and then do that.. Amazing how one job becomes 10!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you all 😊😊😊 I am super pleased, especially considering how fed up I was at lunchtime 😂😂 and yes, one job does always become ten!
Redo, sorry about the bookcase 😂😂 I did originally have two layers of books, but I much prefer to see everything! And we do have bookcases in several other rooms, so we're not exactly deprived, don't worry 😂😂
Gosh, I could do without a day of unpacking my new office tomorrow, how very tiresome 🙄 Didn't even get my much needed bath - a friend wanted a fresh pair of eyes on a job application for tomorrow morning so I ended up doing that instead and it's too late now!
Maybe tomorrow (although tomorrow I'll need to finish painting the walls and start getting the furniture back in before working at home on Tuesday!) 🙄8 -

Do you have a chimney sheep up the chimney? (Assuming its an open fireplace, of course!)
Yes, greent, that is an open fireplace (a very small one!) and yes, there is indeed a chimney sheep! It made a huge difference and completely stopped the door rattling last winter 😂😂
Can't remember if I reported back on the washing machine energy use. 14p (apparently) for a 30 degree cycle with the 'eco perfect' button pressed.
That took 3 hours, and out of interest, next time I might try the normal 30 degree cycle (2.5 hours), and then the same but with 'speed perfect' pressed (2 hours I think). Will be interesting to see how much of a difference there is.
Not today though, have to go and unpack into my new office 🙄
Not paying for parking today. Got into lazy habits of trying to find a free space near work, and then when I couldn't, just paying rather than going further away. Today I'm just going to park further away to start with and walk in - I could do with the exercise anyway! Almost given up trying to get a permit for the actual site - the rules about when they are released are not followed, it seems, and there appears to be a random window on any given day of about 5 minutes when it's possible to get one for the relevant day before they're all taken. At this point it's taking more time and energy to try than it would to just walk!
Right, best leave else I'll get stuck in a massive load of traffic 🙄8 -
really impressed with your carpet laying. It looks great and I am sure will be much warmer
My old office, though much smaller, had a rota for the limited car parking spaces, so at least for one week out of four you had a guaranteed space and individuals could then swap if they weren’t going to be in and you knew that you had to park elsewhere if it wasn’t your week. A lot less faffing about but more restrictive I guess if you are not going into the office everyday. (Very different times where you had to have permission to work from home and a home risk assessment of your proposed working space at home - I guess COVID has changed those rules somewhat now!!)3
