Maybe you can sent Mr Cheery out for the stuff you need, one item at a time, so that he feels like you're shopping frequently, while you use up the stuff in the cupboards.
I'm planning on never shopping again having seen how much stuff there is in the cupboards and freezer...12 -
Hope all goes well tomorrow cheery and you can get back to your comfy bed, dog free! (I type this whilst being laid right on the edge of the bed being pushed off by two dogs! 😂)Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!10 -
I might just do that greenbee!
Thanks Jessy, I do hope so!
Dog has blotted his copybook one too many times this evening - refused to go outside in the rain, then weed twice in the kitchen 🙄 Clearly he's just settled in here now - he didn't do it at all for the first week or so, but I suspect it'll be a hard habit to break him out of after all these years, even with a dog flap 🙄
I did catch him in the act the second time, yelled, and he stopped for long enough for me to get the lead on and force him outside, where we both stood in the rain til he'd done another wee. For goodness sake.
Mr Cheery won't let him on the sofa with us now - he's asleep (or sulking) on another chair 🙄15 -
Depending on how much longer the dog will be with you there's some stuff called Adaptil which smells like wet socks to us but is calming for dogs - mimics puppy hormone scent or something. You can get a spray or a plug in. May help to settle him.12

Seems to have settled pretty nicely into my bed, mind you 🙄😂😂13 -
Good morning Cheery,
You absolutely won’t know yourself when that dog goes home again - sleeping in your own bed again, all that time saved from not walking him, feeding him, buying his food, mopping up his wee etc etc!

Cheery, I hope that the dawg has been returned to his doting owner and you are snug and warm at home. I completely agree that he certainly isn't the dog for you, even if you did want one.
I'm sorry that life is still stressful for you, you do seem to have been rather tightly wound for a good while now
Thanks for the explanation about matched betting. I'm terribly disorganised and Mr hb admits to being rather too fond of gambling (so he doesn't do it ) so it sounds as if we would be best leaving well alone. I have just paid a £600+ tax bill - although I don't work now, it is all supposed to be taken at source - but have had a similar amount just refunded to my credit card, so it's not as bad as it could have been. It's not difficult!
