Good morning Cheery,
No, I don't have my own thread - not brave enough yet!Thank you for explaining the happy wheel - interesting but I suspect I wouldn't be organised enough / have enough head-space to do it!
Re remembering to take the relevant bins / recycling out, I have a list of the days / bin type that need to be put out when, on my boiler in the kitchen (above where I do my food prep) as a reminder - might something like that help? Most councils do a list like that now I think.
Think you are wise to avoid feeding the dog too many lentils - I suspect his micro-biome wouldn't be set up for it and things might get a bit .... let's say .... windy!

Oh Cheery, you've had a time of it!
Men cannot be told when they've made their mind up! That said, I'm glad Mr C decided to sleep at his sister's instead of the car!
Eek to the dog! As a dog owner myself I completely agree with the advice that's been given about not being guilted into keeping the dog and I'm glad you are being sensible. Having a dog is lovely but hard work. Our dog is a right princess and refuses to go for a walk when it's too cold or too rainy! She's a fully grown (I hope) labrador and there is no way I can force her out the door when she decides she's not going. Luckily we have a big garden now that she can run around in for exercise and we are trying to train her to do her business in only one part of the garden where we can it and easily pick up. But it's difficult when we need to be doing something else.
I hope the plumber gets to you today.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2008 -
No plumber today - the part hasn't arrived at the shop yet (I did know that was a possibility). We've rearranged for next Saturday.
We had disruptive snow forecast for this morning, so I cancelled my planned swim in case it started while I was out. Instead I nipped to the village shop for dog food, and got some dentastix, which he has completely ignored 🙄
Took the dog out for over an hour, and he's now fast asleep, leaning on my hot water bottle.
Made myself pancakes, and now back under the duvet with the dog, watching the sewing bee 😂
Might run myself a luxurious daytime bath 😁😁
No great plans for today. Mr Cheery won't be in a good mood by the time he gets back, and we're in for a difficult day on Sunday, so a restful one today I think.
One non MSE thing - I turned the thermostat down last night without looking properly, and left it at 12 rather than 10. I was a bit warm in the middle of the night (and kept hearing the boiler go on and off), but it was nice to get up to a bit of warmth this morning 😂 I've left it at 12 for now anyway so hopefully it'll even out!12 -
Our council sends, if requested to, an email letting you know which wheelie bin of 4 to put out & when. For example very early yesterday I got an email to tell me the grey bin needed to be out by 7 am today. It does make things easier.

I've got an alarm set on the phone for the bins 😂😂 might set another one for the evening, but I still can guarantee that I'll be bothered to walk up the drive if it's gone dark 😂
Delighted that I actually brought the recycling box back in today as well, rather than leaving at the end of the drive for a week 😂12 -
Yaay for bringing in the recycling box! <applause>
I have started a thread of my own if you want to have a squint at it ....

You're not alone with the bins Cheery - we're really bad and we don't have a long drive/no neighbours in sight. Fortunately, being only two of us and fairly zero-waste, there's not huge amounts (we forgot to put our black bin out on the Tues after Christmas and it's not an issue - it's fairly full for us, but nowhere near bulging!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Exciting KK - I have been over and posted 😊😊
Glad it's not just us Vix! We're not too bad with the normal bins (although in the past few months some of the DIY general mess has ended upin there) but the recycling does mount up - we get through a lot of milk and tins of pulses etc. We don't have a doorstep glass collection so it's always faintly embarrassing when that eventually gets taken to the tip 🙄😂😂11 -
Ooh definitely not alone with the bins. As you know, we recently moved and we get so confused over which bin goes out which day.
